Just intrigued as due DS1 in April and my top contender is/was Frank but it appears to have become very popular in my area recently so I am told.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have a two-year-old boy and I've been to loads of baby/toddler classes with him and he's been going to nursery for over a year, so we've met loads of little ones. I do know of little boys with most of the names already mentioned in the thread, but off the top of my head, the only name I can remember where I know more than one boy with the same name is Arthur- there were two in my son's nursery class at one point. So I'd say just go with whatever name you like. Yes, you will likely meet others at some point, but its not really like every other child will have the same name at all. I have only met one little Frank in the last two years.

Henry, Arthur, Charlie. At least 4 kids of each name across DD’s Reception year (so 4-5 year olds). She left 2 Henry’s and another Arthur behind at nursery too.

Although I want to add please don’t let popularity put you off a name… there are swings in trends every few years. Far more important to choose the name you love.

I have a 1 year old in south London and hear all lot of the following - Finn, Dougie, Freddie, June, Ezra, Noah

Lemonademoney · 08/01/2025 20:11

Lots of Franks, Vinnies, Ronnies, Albies. A few George’s coming through and Alfie is always popular (I work in a school and it’s interesting to see the name trends)

Harris/on

Always hear these when I'm at the park.

Jude! I have one but he's 10. It's been my boy name since I first heard the Beatles as a child. Waited 20+ years to use it and now it's everywhere. Went for something far less popular for second DS and so far so good, it's still not popular.

mumbruh · 08/01/2025 19:46

Alfie
Reggie
Ralphy
Finley
George

I don't know any boys who are just Frank, personally, but I do know of 2 babies called Frankie born in 2024 (both male).

Whatisityoucantface · 08/01/2025 19:30

Noah, Theodore/Theo/Teddy, Arthur, Albert/Albie, Ben, Jude, George, Harry, Hugo, Reggie, Rupert, Rory, Alfie

I don’t know any baby boys called Frank actually

ilparadodosdoltos · 08/01/2025 19:27

Amongst 11-12 year olds Theo, Lucas and Oscar very popular where we are in London. It’s all waves, isn’t it?

Sk1sk0 · 08/01/2025 19:26

lots of Archies, Alfies, Georges and Finlays around here.

Frank is a great name. I feel the same about Jude - have loved it for years and now finally due a ds and it’s skyrocketed in popularity!
