He have a two year old boy called Atticus and a daughter on the way, due in April.
we have a small list that we have agreed on but would love to hear your thoughts and any other suggestions 🙂

So far we have:
Amara
Imogen
Lyra
Ivy
Hazel
Luna
Autumn

Middle name will likely be Rose (I know it is popular but it is after my late grandmother).

Atticus and Autumn go well together, it’s the standout to me

keeping with the Greek, Athena, Andromache, Aretha. Millions of em actually.

Agnes isn’t for everyone but it goes with with Rose.

Autumn Rose 🥰

from your list, Ivy seems to stand out as not on the same level as Atticus, it’s too common /every day in comparison.

others that I like and seem to work with Atticus:
Genevieve
Eleanor
Persephone
Penelope
Astrid
Eloise
Claudia
Beatrice
Delilah
Felicity
Henrietta
Helena
Clara

Atticus and Amara go well together in terms of sound if you're only planning two children. The others are all very popular recent names, not sure if that's an issue. I'd be tempted to go more classical and have Ida Rose

Acacia.

I really love Autumn from your list - although I like all of them, great taste! DS would have been Hazel if he’d been a DD so also adore that, and Imogen was a strong contender for DD. A few other suggestions… this was our girls list, DD’s name is one of these.

Genevieve
Juliet
Josephine
Tabitha
Bryony
Helena
Octavia
Amber
Edith
Clementine
Stella
Claudia
Colette
Jocelyn

I do like Hazel too, my husband doesn’t mind it but isn’t his fave.
Some lovely suggestions, thank you 🙂

Hazel or Imogen.

The only one I don’t like is Amara which seems non-name like or like the brand name of a cleaning product or something.

I like Rumer mentioned by a PP too.

Amara means bitter in Italian.

Inspired by your list I love ..
Luna Rose
Imogen Rose
Lucia Rose
Autumn Rose
Cosima Rose
Joanna Rose
Bronte Rose

Names with R like Lyra sound tongue twistie with Rose.

Finch (sorry, sorry, couldn't resist!)

Since Atticus is something of a literary name, how about Lyra to go along with it?

Haha I know, you aren’t the first to mention this. I haven’t actually read To Kill a Mockingbird but I am aware of the character.
I do like Lyra, it has been one my preferred ones

From your list I like Imogen

Butterflyball · 30/12/2024 07:51

@NotISaidTheCat you beat me to it!

Keeping in theme, what about Harper?

From your list, Luna.

MostHighlyFlavoredGravy · 30/12/2024 07:48

I like Imogen best from your list. Luna is the name of every other dog atm, just to note in case that bothers you!

Other ideas that go with Atticus and Rose... Phoebe? Sophia? Harper or Scout if you want to go a bit matchy-matchy?

ColdHenrietta · 30/12/2024 07:46

Elena / Eleanor (the first ‘goes better with’, the second is more straightforward to pronounce, and rather lovely.)
Olympia
Rumer
