Boy's name ideas similar to Jacob, Isaac, Lucas

So far the only boy names I/we like are ones which won't work.

Jacob - a family member's name
Isaac - we both like it but it doesn't work with the family ties to the names where the name comes from in the Bible
Lucas - DH says it with a hard K which I am not keen on, and I expect his family would too.
I also liked Henry but that got a hard no from DH. Harry also would not work.
'th' names (Theo, Arthur) won't work as I struggle with the 'th' sound.

We are open to other Bible names (but the name must have positive connotations in the Bible) and we're also happy with a non-biblical name.

Please help us with ideas

Michael is a fantastic biblical name.

John, also.

If you'd like to stray beyond the bible, I'd suggest Bacchus.

How else would you say Lucas without a hard C?

But Benjamin, Thomas, Andrew, Michael, John and David all spring to mind.

I see what you're saying about Lucas has a hard c not a soft c, I think I explained it poorly. When DH says it he puts the emphasis on the C whereas when I say it has a smoother sound to it - I hope that makes more sense now. Maybe I just need to get him to say it more so I can get used to it as I really do like the name and DH was open to it.

Thank you for all these lovely suggestions, I am liking Oscar and Caleb. I like Matthew also but my 'th' butchers it.

What about Lucius? Like Lucas but does have a soft c?

Lisbeth50 · 23/12/2024 18:55

I'm not sure about the hard K either.

What about Jake, Isaiah, Zach/Zachary, Luca, Joseph, Oscar, Jonah?

Gabriel

Not sure how you are pronouncing "Lucas" without a hard C.

How else do you say lucas???

LegoHouse274 · 23/12/2024 18:10

Zachariah, Zachary, Joshua, Alexander.

BoleynMemories13 · 23/12/2024 18:06

Probably a silly question, but how do you pronounce Lucas if not with a hard K sound? That's the only way I've ever heard it pronounced (and the way I like).

I love all 3 of the names you've listed so hopefully we have similar tastes. Other boys names I like:-

Thomas
Matthew
Adam
Noah
Elliot
Ethan
Leo
Louis
Jude

Lucias or Lucien, to avoid the hard K sound?
