Exactly.. riding schools and pony club very different!!!

(Tongue in cheek but kinda true!)

Just saying. In my experience, the posher people are, the less pretentious they are.

But doesn’t ’jolly hockey sticks & pony club’ suggest aspirational-posh (try-hard) rather than actually posh?

Well the Middleton sisters were Catherine & Phillipa, they were quintessential "jolly hockey stick" types! James a bit more ambiguous!

Yes actual posh people (DH's family) all have names but non actually go by them.

Think Fuffy, Bunty, Fifi - which near no relation to their actual (still posh) names.

this is hilarious as there are boys with every one of those names - save Roger - at DDs private prep school. This is literally like reading the boys’ class list. Interestingly for the girls’ names the only match is Matilda (nn Tilly)

Well guilty as charged as my Hugo is indeed a member of the Pony Club 😂

His closest friends there are Oscar, Helena and Emmie. Had he been a girl he would have been Arabella Florence if that helps, also loved Cosima and there was one at his primary school!

I do know a baby Daphne and their family’s pretty posh.

The fanciest people I know have kids with names including Boudicca and Rocco.
