Baby girl, no name due in 2 weeks!

Name changed as I share our names in this. As the title, I'm due in 2 weeks.

Already have two girls, Florence and Robin. I'm becoming increasingly anxious we don't have a single name that feels right!

DH likes quite old fashioned names. He likes Connie but we don't like Constance. He likes Edith with Edie as a nickname but I'm not sure, where we live in the north west I already get a lot of 'oh isn't Florence very old fashioned' comments, I think Edith would illicit more of the same!

I really liked Eden instead and we were quite set on this for a while, but then had a bad experience with another child who turned out to be called Eden and it's just spoiled it for us.

I'm honestly finding it impossible. We have trawled lists and lists of girls names with no luck!

Please share some girls names. I like Olive but our surname is Doyle which sounds too much like Olive Oil!

I love Connie, if I had another I'd go with Connie wouldn't be short for anything <3

Think others have suggested lovely names. Daphne, Alice, Bonnie, Edie. Also echo that I wouldn't let one bad Eden ruin it for you!

Winnie? Nell? Nora? Sylvie? Stevie? Dorothy (Dot?), Esme? Felicity (Flick)?

April

April was going to be my suggestion too!

Notgoodatpoetrybutgreatatlit · 25/10/2024 20:10

Previous poster suggested Darrell, I have always loved that name for a girl. I also like Harriet as it gives Harry as a nickname which is so cool for a girl.

potatoes4all · 25/10/2024 20:07

I have a Flo, her sister is Eve.
Also love:
Margaux
Beatrix
Clementine (Clemmie)

Victoria

Dorothy/Dorothea

Florence is really old-fashioned? Babies called Florence in England & Wales since 1996 Smile

Firsttimebabymummy · 25/10/2024 19:25

I really like Edith and think it fits in perfectly, Edie is so cue too.

Also like the Zoe suggestion above and Cordelia

AllHisCaterpillarFriends · 25/10/2024 10:43

Following on from above Cordelia is lovely

RedOnyx · 25/10/2024 10:37

I know a Connie whose full name is Cornelia. I think it could also be a nickname for Corinne.

How about Yvonne, Alyssa or Phoebe?

Nicebloomers · 25/10/2024 10:17

Are you sure you’re not just overthinking Edith? I think it’s lovely and so what if others think it’s old fashioned!

I love the name Connie in its own right definitely on my shortlist if I’m ever lucky enough to have another.

I think Connie doesn’t have the nickname vibe like Edie does but I love.

my daughters nursery is full of the blue rinse brigade names but it’s soo cute. Thora, Vida, Thelma, Edith, Annie, Ernest, Albie

ravingandbehaving · 25/10/2024 07:46

Wow thanks so much for all the lovely answers everyone! Going to sit and make a shortlist today.

Your daughter's names are lovely!

Connie is great. Why not just call her Connie and forget about Constance?

If I'd had girls they would have been Pippa, Annie or Martha, either of which might work for you.

I also love Clara.

Just throwing it out there that with a surname of Doyle, any 'E' first name will give the initials of ED, Edi .
I liked Elodie or Eloise we are due a boy so back to the drawing board!

PurBal · 25/10/2024 06:18

Persephone nn Persy/Percy

Boobygravy · 25/10/2024 06:12
