Got this into my top 3. Just curious of how people would pronounce it, is it “REE-ON”

@Babyboyno2 why would you have a top 3 name you don't know how to pronounce?

shoopshoopdedoo · 05/09/2024 15:07

Is it for a boy or girl?

I think I’d say Rogan (as in Josh) or Rodge-ann (like the first part of Roger) if I was making an attempt. But I’d say it correctly once I’d been informed how to! Loads of people have names that aren’t easy to pronounce but people learn. I wouldn’t let it put you off, unless you’ll be furious every time it’s said incorrectly.

I would have no idea and would have to ask/look up how to pronounce it!
(Cos I know how I'd sound it out in my head is wrong!)

Pipecleanerrevival · 05/09/2024 14:56

I would say REE-on

Rogan

I have to admit, even though my husband is Irish, we would never, ever give a child a 'traditional Irish name' that's spelt and pronounced unusually. You're just setting them up for a life of never having their name pronounced or spelt properly... Just my opinion.
