Baby boy names Lucas, Reuben or Theo

Hello, we have just found out we are having a baby boy. As much as we are over the moon, we were more set on a girls name! We are between Lucas, Reuben and Theo. What are people's thoughts? Also I was very prepared to be a girl mummy but a bit scared to be a boy mum but excited. Any hints or tips to get me prepared for our boy?

Thank you for reading

Lucas!

Rubens are 10 a penny round here which would be off putting to me (one class at school has 5 of them in one class!!) and just not a fan of Theo at all.

Congratulations on little one! I thought I was having a girl but ended up with a boy. He's an absolute delight <3

Babies are all so different, hard to give advice based on gender really but stereotypically be prepared for them to be super energetic!! Lots of my friends had girls the first time round and would do things like coffee dates whereas I had to be outside and on the move to keep my son occupied as he's a whirlwind. Then they all had boys second time around and I had a girl 😂 so now they're all tearing around the park and I'm enjoying hot coffees in the cafe. Though to be fair she's still a bit of a whirlwind! Must be how I make them.

Oh, and I never found the wee spraying thing once you take the nappy off to be a major issue. I was just grateful that boys are less likely to get UTI’s - baby poonarmi’s aren’t uncommon and it tends to get everywhere, including all over their front bits 😩

Lucas is nice. Theo will likely be one of many (Theo’s and Theodore’s seem to be very popular plus soundalike Leo) and I’m personally not keen on the sound of Reuben.

Mumsnet is really against “gender disappointment” but I think it’s quite common for women to initially want girls- simply because as women we assume we’ll understand them better. But as a mum to a DS, trust me that once they are here you won’t care and wouldn’t change them (plus no guarantees that a daughter would be anymore like Mum personality-wise than a son will or won’t be anyway 🤣). No special boy tips, they are each so individual.

DGS born 2 months ago is a Reuben!

I prefer Theo, though it’s super popular. I’ve never liked Lucas and I’m not so keen on Reuben either.

Being a boy mum is exactly the same as being a girl mum, except you’re more a bit more likely to get wee in your eye.

I have a Theo (Theodore) 🥰

In terms of tips: always be prepared when you take his nappy off or you might end up in the firing line of a water fountain!

I love Theo! I also like Lucas, not so keen on Reuben
