I wouldn't have considered Mirella unusual, it is from French Mireille which comes from Mary.

I've never met another one before or since so it's unusual to me 😅

Tasnim/Tasneem is a pretty popular name for Muslims. It's Arabic, meaning Fountain of Paradise and is in the Quran.

Tasneem has great connotations for me because I went to school with one. Not only was she stunning to look at she was extremely kind and gentle. I wanted to be here so badly!

Ah, thank you. I haven't actually seen Tasnim yet (she's in a different group than my daughter) but the nursery is very international and there are quite a few Arabic names, but mostly more "obviously" Arabic if that makes sense (Malik, Harir, etc.)

Name changed because you never know who might be on here...
My daughter's nursery has a Miracle, Isra and Sonea (all girls). Miracle and Isra might be common in the cultures they come from but I definitely hadn't met anyone with those names before! There's also a new girl named Tasnim - I've heard of Tamsin (although never met any) but Tasnim is a new one on me!

A friend at uni's housemate was called Jessamy.

I briefly knew a Mirella. I think it's pretty but she hated her name and always went by Ella.

I despair for your kids having to grow up with narrow mindedness.

😂😂
Thankfully, I don’t have any 🤷🏼‍♀️

timoteigirl · 10/08/2024 08:16
