Would be pronounced LEE-oh-nee with the stress on the first syllable. What do you think?

My relative says it the same as you. When she was at university she resorted to putting an accent on the first syllable to stop the Lee OH nee pronunciation.adee laugh, but it did work.

Love the name. I've heard it both pronounced as Lee- oh- nee, and Lay-oh-nee.
Both with emphasis on first syllable, or the second! So there's no right or wrong.

I prefer Leonor as it is always LEE-on-or.
Leonie is often Lee-OWN-ee.

I know a Leonie pronounced leah-nee. She's always having to correct, it's quite a rare pronunciation. I grew up with a Leonie pronounced the way you are suggesting, lovely girl Smile

I really like it.My friends married surname is Leone which is pronounced the same.

I really like it. Only ever met one; a lovely little girl who will be in her mid 20s now.

So I'd say it's that perfect combination of being rarely used but recognisable.

In Cambridge?

I love it. Was at the top of my girl list, but alas another boy imminently due (with no name inspo forthcoming yet!).

Plan now is to just get a load of female cats and call them all the beautiful names like Leonie I've missed out on 😉

Sorry I'm being really thick but I can't say it right with the emphasis on the Lee. I can only say it with an emphasis slightly on the oh part. 🙈 really nice name, although I do prefer Leona.
