I recently heard of baby name Albert I fallen in love with it I like old traditional names, unfortunately husband really doesn't seem to love it like I do which makes me sad I was discussing with my DM earlier and she loves it too but she has said to me that I can't use it if my DH doesn't like it as much as me.

Has anyone had this and do you get over this feeling even with a compromise name instead. I wonder see the name Albert I'm going to feel sad.

Archibald? Archie is cute

DH hated both my top names, but I wasn't too attached to them so I lived with it. Turns out they wouldn't have suited either of our kids anyway!

Was just going to suggest Arthur!

He actually loves Arthur but there seems to be a lot at my son's nursery so I was abit hesitant

When the baby emerges, you and DH will know if he is an Albert or not. I wouldn't stress until you meet him.

No you can't use it if the babies dad doesn't like it. You have to both compromise and find a name you both like.

Having said that he's done you a huge favour as baby Albert's are blooming everywhere and I suspect you'll be glad he didn't like it once your child is born and and every third child is an Albert, Albie or Bertie.

If it helps at all, I know many so small Alberts, Berties, Albies and even a half Italian Alberto! When you realise there are 2 in his class at nursery you might feel relief for choosing another name rather than sadness. Hopefully anyway!

My youngest is Albert nn Bertie. He gets complimented on his name a lot, people seem to really like it.

I have an uncle Albert aged 72 and he's lovely. What about Walter? That's old fashioned too and I reckon it's due a come back. is you DH one of those who likes surnames for boys like Brandon, Harrison, etc? Or worse a shortened/nickname like Charlie or Jack? If so, could you leave him?
