I feel like there are thousands of lovely girl names but none that I really LOVE. Hoping for inspiration, what is your favourite girl name?

@willWillSmithsmith what a lovely post. My name is Sarah and my mum was very firm when choosing my name back in 1973. It had to be classic, not able to be shortened and (she hoped) reasonably timeless.

Your post reminded me of her and brought a tear to my eye as she’s no longer with us.

Thank you for being so kind about my name. I have always loved it 🥰

You’re welcome 🙂 you have a really lovely, timeless name. Your mum gave you a great gift in that (I have always hated my name and would love to be called Sarah).

@Winky2024 Never heard of Joan being shortened to Jo before! I guess that's why she wanted your name to be one that couldn't be shortened😊
