Love it. I had a boxer called Otto. He was a scallywag.

frai · 02/07/2024 18:23

Says fat European middle aged bloke to me, possibly with a walrus moustache.

Firsttimebabymummy · 02/07/2024 14:04

I don't like it. I used to ride a German Warmblood horse called Otto.

Full Registered Name "otto he has done it again"

Nice for a dog/horse

Bournetilly · 02/07/2024 02:07

Love love love!

BettyBardMacDonald · 02/07/2024 01:59

We had a dachshund named Otto, about 50 years ago.

DramaAlpaca · 02/07/2024 01:10

It quite simply has to be one of the harshest and ugliest names out there. Just horrid.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/07/2024 01:05

Sounds rather harsh for a little child.

PocketCup · 02/07/2024 01:02

Makes me think bOTTOm.

I prefer Otis which I think gives more similar vibes 🙂

Otis is an aardvark or a blues player

nothing like Otto

Otto is a comedy Germanic/Austrian stereotype of name imo - like Bruce for Aussies, Chad for Americans or Nigel for the English etc.

Absolutely!

As a German, I 100% agree.

Hightower?

I happen to currently be watching HOD 😂😂😂

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 01/07/2024 23:11

My dm was going to name my db Otto 50 years ago. I think it’s a cool name.

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 01/07/2024 23:10

PassMeTheCookies · 01/07/2024 23:10

I do love the name, but I live in Manchester where nobody pronounces the letter T. I know a kid called Otto who gets addressed as "uh-oh", like the noise you make when you make a mistake.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/07/2024 23:09

Not for me, sorry. As palindrome names go, Asa is far nicer. Or Ivo if you just want a less commonplace “O” ending name than all the Theo’s, Leo’s etc.

Otto is a comedy Germanic/Austrian stereotype of name imo - like Bruce for Aussies, Chad for Americans or Nigel for the English etc. I feel like I’d be in a cartoon or sketch show with a little Otto.

IllMetByMoonlight · 01/07/2024 23:01

Love it. Rose Otto. Also palindromic, which is neat.

Bathbombin · 01/07/2024 23:00

Fantastic!

saisagelover · 01/07/2024 22:59

Love it

Moier · 01/07/2024 22:56

Absolutely love it.
( l do find people asking opinions on baby names are asking to be upset .. if loads don't say they like it... your baby ...your decision).
But to me that is a lovely name.

It sounds quite affected as a British name. Unless you're scandi or German or something it's a bit try hard and twee sounding. Reminds me of late noughties yummy mummies who's parents bought them a flat in Dalston.

It is why it is dachshunds and Schanusers mainly called Otto
