We LOVE the name Lovey for a little girl, but obviously for more professional circumstances/later life it wouldn't be appropriate. Any ideas for what Lovey could be a nickname for?

Reminds me of Blackadder, where Captain Darling is always called Darling by senior officers.

We call each other lovey in our house. I don't think it needs to be related to our actual names. It's like calling a child sweetheart or darling or dear or bubba

buttnut · 01/07/2024 16:59

What about a normal first name and Love as a middle name. I think it’s a cute middle name.

Yikes - Lovey?? As others have said, do you hate your unborn child and want her to get teased?

I call my dd honey often, the whole family refer to her as honey. When we are our old ladies strike up conversation with her after hearing her called honey and almost exactly two sentences in they ask her what her name is. She replies Maisie. I’m sure they just checking she’s got a proper name!

That’s a type of glove.

Well it was also this girl’s first name.

Lucy is the name of a brand of bin…
Stella is a type of beer…
So what?

She asked for name suggestions not judgey comments. Have a great day.

There’s a character in the TV show You called Love. I thought it weird at first but I guess it’s no different to Faith, Hope, Peace, Patience type names?

Are you from the Eastern bloc?

Lala sounds like a euphemism for a ladygarden.

On Reddit, they call these types of name a tragedeigh.

Loveigh would definiteleigh be a tradgedeigh.

Jimberleigh would be preferable.

Just pick a proper name that you like? Nicknames are exactly that.
It's like someone saying I want my child to be called Moo.
