So sorry for making so many threads in such a short period!! This will be the last one I think, just to figure out general opinion in a poll. The options for those that can't see are:

Dorothea Marjorie
Eloise Marjorie
Dahlia Marjorie
Marjorie Aurelia
Marjorie Renée
Marjorie Juliette

A lot of Marjorie, I know, but it's a really special name to me! TIA for voting.

Names like Marjorie are far from outdated.

I know one Marjorie who is about 12 months old and one who has just turned five.

The five year old is in school with children named Archie, Arthur, Stanley, Elsie, Edith, and Vera.

Yes, there are also kids named Hunter, Piper, Harper, Parker, Hadley, Addison, Campbell, and Bailey in the school.

Plus kids named Tom, Henry, Charlie, Molly, Nevaeh, Daphne, Theo, Oliver, Rosie, Charlotte....

There's room in this world for all sorts of tastes.

Sorry but Marjorie is so outdated, especially for this generation

If you love Marjorie OP, please choose that as her name. You could ask for opinions on any name and someone will have a strong dislike for it - which is fine of course - we’re all different.

Ditto this xx

I see on your other thread you've chosen Marjorie as the first name.

Great choice!!

Yes indeed, but you are asking for opinions, and that's my opinion.

I didn't mean that with annoyance, just that I'm going to end up going with one of these names because I don't think they're unacceptable, because we have different tastes. I know I asked for opinions, I don't really mind if anyone doesn't like them.

I voted for Eloise Marjorie, but I think Marjorie is your favourite and in which case I like Marjorie Aurelia best :) Triplets - how exciting!

Marjorie Aurelia

Beautiful. Wish that was my name!

I voted Eloise Marjorie. Because Eloise is the only acceptable name in the list.

I know Marjorie is special to you, but please do make it the second name and give the poor girl a good first name.

Renee is pure hell. Dahlia, Dorothea, Juliette and Aurelia almost as bad.

Different tastes is all!

Think how the names will be used in reality

Rose or Roz and Elly or Marj or Dot/Dotty or Leah

Yes I'm fine with all the shortenings, Rosalie just gets Rose and Rosie so I don't want to use Rose in any other names.

No Marjorie Eloise..?

I voted for Eloise Marjorie :)

Edited

I didn't have space for it in the poll! It's still an option, not sure why I didn't put it in the post.

Gorgeous but my daughter is Rosalie Andrea, so I'm trying to avoid Rose names.

Rose or Roz and Elly or Marj or Dot/Dotty or Leah

How are you pronouncing Dahlia? Day-lee-a or Dah-lee-ah?

I think Marjorie could be nice, if it suits your DD when she arrives. And you don't mind her being called Margey.

Don't worry too much about the middle name, just be 100% on how the first name stands alone.

Dah-lee-ah, and yes I think we're probably going to end up waiting to try the names out on her

Just saw your earlier post about being a triplet and would stress even more the importance of being happy with her first name on its own - really easy to loose the woods for the trees when you're looking at 6 names!

RichPetunia · 04/06/2024 16:53

Elouise Marjorie
