If you had to rename your children, now that they're older, what would you call them?

I was talking with a friend about names that, in hindsight, we were glad we didn't use for our children that had been on our lists while we were pregnant.

We then got onto names we didn't use but would have definitely suited them now that they're older and we know their personalities. So I wondering what everyone else's were, if you had to change their name.

Dd- so patient and calm, great with children and a natural teacher. I'd call her Willow or Rowan. I feel these names sound soft and wise.

DS1- Introverted, really studios, loves learning everything he can about his interests, he's passionate but in a quiet way. I'd call him Dmitry or Vincent. I feel these names sound romantic and poetic.

Ds2- very extroverted, very high energy. He's definitely an act now, think later character and just dives into everything, really adventurous. I'd call him Ivar or Bjorn. I feel the viking style of name sound really strong and fearless.

I think I’d save time and go for Your Imperial Highness

Oooh interesting. Generally think mine suit their names but

dd1 would by daisy because she is forever innocent 😇

dd2 would be Matilda because she is a warrior

dd3 would by Skye just because she suits it and day she arrived it was stormy!

dd4 would be zelda because another warrior!

Interesting question! And interesting to read your thoughts.
I don't have any children, so I can't give any examples of my own.

I can offer this story, though.
I have a relative who was supposed to have a certain name, but when he was born, the older generation of the family "vetoed" it because it was the name of some movie star that had been popular 20 years earlier, but had behaved badly or something. So my relative was given another name, a perfectly fine name, but the parents always kind of regretted it. And as you can imagine, nobody remembered anything bad about that movie star or the name of the movie star later on. Many people did not even know who the movie star was, at all.
25 years later, when my relative was an adult, he decided to add the name as a middle name, to make his parents happy, and beacause he liked the name.
