If Rowan was on your list but you chose another boys name, what was it?

I have a Rowan and we're expecting another baby later this year. I'm certain it's going to be another boy but I don't love any boys names and need some inspiration please.

The small number of names we do like are all used by close friends/family or we don't agree on!

I also had Leo, Cassian, Asher and Raphael and went with one of those.
I might wish I'd gone with Rowan!

@DefinitelyNotMaybe such a lovely name but my niece is a Robyn!

I loved Rowan but we already had a Holly (+Sophie) and DH thought it was far too plant related 😁So we went for Ryan.

Our list was Francis, Asher, Kit, Jesse, Jonah, Griffin, Emrys, Rowan, Robin.

We loved Rowan but went with Tobias (not shortened to Toby)

We also had Nathaniel, Rufus and Elias on the list oh and Zachary

my ds was Rowan for about a day but we decided it wasn’t quite right.
still a great name tho.

I know of a Rowan with a brother called Ash.

Rowen was on our short list but chose Ash. DD also has a nature name, we nearly went with Willow but chose a bird instead.

I had Rowan and Rufus on my list - I liked that they both had red connotations, as we have red hair in our family. But we had a girl.

@17caterpillars1mouse ohh I really like Tobias, do you find it gets shortened to Toby? I like Toby a lot too but it's the name of a close family members pet.

Somebody also suggested Oliver which I love and even though it's very popular but a close family member has a variation of the name and I don't feel like we can use it.
