All sweet, except Lily is lower on the list.

notanothernana · 22/05/2024 09:35

Der der der SWEET CAROLINE wah wah wah. Is what came to my mind.

TorturedPoets · 22/05/2024 09:25

I like them all, maybe not Helen so much. I

ManilowBarry · 22/05/2024 09:23

Lily, - not keen.
Helen, - prefer Elena
Caroline, - not keen prefer Carrie Anne
Anna, - lovely name
Louisa, - lovely name also love Eloise
Ingrid. - not keen

Equivo · 22/05/2024 09:20

In order from best to worst:

Ingrid
Caroline
Anna
Helen

Don't like : Louisa, Lily or Jane

Growlybear83 · 22/05/2024 09:16

I'm not so keen on Ingrid but I think the others are all lovely names and would have difficulty choosing between them.

CardiganTardigan · 22/05/2024 09:07

Lily is nice but soooo overused it’s become dull. And every Lily is a Lily-Rose or Lily-May, Done to death.

Dislike Ingrid it’s quite harsh sounding and really don’t like Helen.

Love Anna.

Firsttimebabymummy · 22/05/2024 07:29

Love Anna
Helen is nice and elegant too

Rockmehardplace · 21/05/2024 23:21

Caroline an underused classic, i dont know why it’s not more popular, and Carrie is a lovely nn

louisa & Anna are gorgeous too
Lilly is nice but overused at the moment, Ingrid is harsh & helen is dull as dishwater.

shoopshoopdedoo · 21/05/2024 23:14

Like them all! Favourite is Anna, followed by Helen and Louisa.

1984Winston · 21/05/2024 18:17

I do actually know of a Sharlot 🤣

Moreteaandchocolate · 21/05/2024 18:01

Lovely names - I like them all.

I’d probably choose Anna because it’s a gorgeous, underused and timeless classic that doesn’t get shortened.

Caroline is also a lovely underused name with Carrie and Callie as lovely shortenings

Louisa - gorgeous, as long as you don’t mind “Lou” for short

Helen - I like this, especially with the shortening Nell, which differentiates it from the older generation of Helen’s!

Lily - beautiful if you don’t mind the popularity

Ingrid - a little hard sounding to me but a good name and rarely used

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/05/2024 17:30

I like Anna. Also Louisa (but maybe dated?)

Jane, Helen, Caroline are dated to me

lily is ok but so popular got boring. Ingrid I’m just not a big fan of but that’s taste.

IggyAce · 21/05/2024 16:54

Caroline or Ingrid

marshmallowfinder · 21/05/2024 16:52

Louisa nice, the others very boring.

Workawayxx · 21/05/2024 16:50

All nice, I don’t dislike any. Favourites are Caroline and Louisa 😍 followed by Anna and Lily (both pretty) then Helen and Ingrid (both a little clunkier for me).

miniaturepixieonacid · 21/05/2024 16:48

Quite a varied shortlist.

Lily - It's pretty but has been so popular for so long that it's started to seem very dull to me. But I'm a teacher so have taught dozens over the last 15 years or so.
Helen - don't really like it but it would be very unusual on a baby now. Nearly all Helens are 40+, I would say.
Caroline - similar age demographic to Helen, perhaps a decade or so younger. I quite like it though. Prefer Carolina.
Anna - like it. Simple but pretty and never popular enough to get boring but always in use.
Louisa - it's ok. Fresher and prettier than Louise but I wouldn't choose it personally.
Ingrid - like it and have never met a British person with this name.

So, Anna or Ingrid would be my picks.

DuchessOfSausage · 21/05/2024 15:34

Jane as a middle name is so dull.

Riverlee · 21/05/2024 15:34

Lily, Helen, Caroline, Anna, Louisa, Ingrid

Lily - ok
Helen - ok
Caroline - like
Anna- like, gaining popularity?
Louisa - my favourite
Ingrid - has a different feel to the rest of your names, which were popular seventies names (apart from Lily)

Love Red onion chutney

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2024 15:25

I guess if you went with an allium inspired name, the nickname when very small could be Leek...Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2024 15:24

All good 'classic' names.

Jane makes an excellent middle name which goes with many others.

HeyNowDontDreamItsOver · 21/05/2024 15:23

Hehe Onions.

I think it depends what your last name is. Sometimes the first name feels like it has to flow with the last name

Dontdeclutterthemagic · 21/05/2024 15:22

I'm not keen on Lily or Ingrid. Helen is hard to imagine on a baby and you have the Helen/Ellen conundrum which gets old fast.

Louisa and Anna are lovely. Caroline definitely due a comeback.

BedDepartment · 21/05/2024 15:22

DuchessOfSausage · 21/05/2024 15:19

Shallot sounds pretty, could be Shal, Lottie or Shally for those all important nn options.
Pearl is ok
Scallion might be a bit yooneek

Allium is quite pretty. Or Cipollini.
