Romeo.. honest opinions

Hey all, so background is a have two boys Soul and Rio. I like names a little different.
I have fallen in love with the name Romeo but I have such mixed opinions on it.

How do you all feel about it?.

Also, it's pretty hard on the child if he grows up to be a shy, short bookworm type. You need a certain amount of swagger to carry off 'Romeo' when introducing yourself to girls in your teens.

Hmm I don't know... I've heard people use 'Romeo' a lot in a teasing/mocking way, like 'lover boy'. So it doesn't have a particularly nice connotation to me. And it's very similar to Rio... I prefer Roman or Ronan

It's a beautiful Italian boys name. I've known two Romeos, both Italian and both were very good looking, successful men which suits the name! Maybe if they hadn't had the confidence to carry it off they might not have survived the teasing they both got at school, but maybe that name and the teasing made them stronger. As adults they both rocked their name.

It's a hard no from me. Too many connotations for a child/adult to be limbered with not to mention being teased as a child or not taken seriously as an adult.

It's not my taste (but turn neither are Soul or Rio), but I don't hate it.

I think it's probably too similar to Rio though.
