What do you think when you hear Lexi?

My DP likes this for our baby DD but I'm not keen.

Awful. Nothing classy about it at all.

There’s a Lexi at my DC’s school and she’s the only one whose mum screeches her name across the playground.

It’s my cats name. I didn’t give it to her, it came with her from the rescue.

I wouldn’t call a child Lexi, it’s a bit of a B&M bargains/Iceland name.

Other than that it sounds like a nickname.
It’s not a name I can imagine on a baby or an adult. It’s got that Honey vibe for me. Too ditzy sounding.
Im not a fan of the name, as you can tell! 😂

Because the OP specifically asked what does it make you think of, not if I liked it or not….quite frankly I am sure the OP doesn’t care if a random stranger likes the name or not, they wanted to know what associations people have with it.

I also couldn’t think of another word to describe her, hence why I used it.

I think its nice although I prefer Alexadra then you can shorten it to Lexie.

I was thinking chavvy too. I'm a social worker and it's a name that comes up all the time. Like, All The Time! Never had a Sarah, Elizabeth, Laura on my caseload but have at least 2 or 3 Lexis each month!

I used to work with male substance users and offenders.

Nearly all of them had a child with a woman who wouldn't let them see the child for a reason that was 'obviously' not their fault... and 9/10 if a girl the child was called Lexi. Or Lexi-May etc

I can't move past that.

It’s the name of my neighbour’s dog, who is forever escaping and therefore her name is regularly shouted around the place!

When I was a TA in a primary, there was a Lexi in the class - tomboy, spunky, easy going but head strong - I saw her yesterday in her secondary school uniform and she looked so cute and still with a street smart look about her

I’d go for Alexandra though so she can choose Alex or Lexi or even both

Sexy Lexi - I knew a girl who would get called that but in cruel sarcastic way. "Sexy Lexi like a lump of lard, Sexy Lexi you make my Willy go hard". It's stuck in my head for three decades.

I love it as short for Alexandra, so you’ve got a more formal, classy option if you need it as an adult.

I think of Alan Partridge saying it as plural for 'Lexuses'.
