Love these combos:
Dorothy Rose
Beatrice Lily
Lily Beatrice
Primrose Dorothy
Primrose Beatrice

I think Primrose somehow seems a bit less twee with Daisy than Rose or Lily, if that’s a concern? Maybe because it’s a less obvious floral combo. Same for Violet, although I’m not keen on that name!

ShillyShallySherbet · 17/05/2024 17:03

Dorothy Violet

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/05/2024 17:02

Would have said Dorothy violet but quite similar to Daisy and so is Rosie so I’d vote Lily.

Roselilly36 · 17/05/2024 07:59

I don’t like Dorothy at all, I know a Dorothy she absolutely hates it and uses her middle name. Unless on official documents.

OctaviaRedQueen · 17/05/2024 07:57

Another vote for Beatrice Lily.

Daisy and Bea sound good together.

Thanks @NuffSaidSam Violet has always been my all time favourite for a first name and it sounds less twee with Daisy, but my oh doesn’t like it at all 😔 Beatrice Lily is a lovely suggestion too.

Violet is lovely and I would just insist on it.

Lily is so everywhere, she'd be just yet another Lily.

Rosie Dorothy is awful - like a pink Dorothy.

Whatever you do, ditch the Lily and Rosie/Rose.

SnowFrogJelly · 17/05/2024 00:40

I don't like Dorothy (old ladies)
Another vote for Rosa

MoonKiss · 17/05/2024 00:39

Try Rosa rather than Rosie. Rosa Dorothy works. It’s a classic, beautiful name and goes better with Daisy.

HoHoHoliday · 17/05/2024 00:36

@Idarosetta
"I do really love the name Primrose too,"

If you love the flower names like Daisy, Primrose, Lily, Violet, what about Marigold? It's one of my absolute favourite girls names.
Daisy and Marigold go perfect together.
Marigold Dorothy?

Skibiddy · 16/05/2024 22:24

Dorothy violet 💙

CharlieBoo · 16/05/2024 22:19

I absolutely LOVE Dorothy Violet!! I would avoid Lily (so overused and dull) .. Dorothy goes really well with Daisy too and the nn Dot, Dotty is cute..

greenose · 16/05/2024 22:09

Rosie or Lily

ThinkingOfMe · 16/05/2024 22:02

I don’t like Dorothy at all so I’d choose Lily Beatrice.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/05/2024 21:58

Lily Beatrice is really lovely. I don’t think two flower names matters at all - in fact it was quite commonplace for girl siblings years ago (although I suppose if you have more DD’s then it might eventually become a bit restrictive!)

Im not keen on same initial for same sex siblings due to post confusion ( plus Dorothy is too retro for my taste anyway) and I find Rosie quite descriptive (Rosy cheeks etc) so I’m also not keen, although I still like it better than Dorothy.

NinaPersson · 16/05/2024 21:07

Dorothy is a no for me

Beatrice for a first name

Firsttimebabymummy · 16/05/2024 20:42

Dorothy Violet is beautiful

Ps. GM's sister was Primrose. Goes n nicely with Daisy!

I do really love the name Primrose too, not sure what I’d put with it as a middle name. Maybe Annie?

Dorothy Violet. My grandma was called Dorothy Kate. Her nickname was Bobby.

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 16/05/2024 18:17

Lilly Violet
Eloise Violet
Paloma Violet
Ruby Violet
Lola Violet
Camille Violet
Ella Violet

Sunnnybunny72 · 16/05/2024 18:17

Rosa Dorothy. Nothing ending in ie.
Avoid 'cute'

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 16/05/2024 18:14

I don't like Dorothy
Love Violet

Dorothy Violet

ToffeenutLatte · 16/05/2024 16:43

Dorothy Violet is lovely. Dot/Dotty is a very sweet nn.

I have a family member who has 3 girls all with very common/ popular flower names, she gets alot of comments about how twee and matchy it all is.
She has expressed recently that she wishes she'd given them more individual names instead of running with a theme. Older relatives and extended family often get them muddled aswell, which doesn't happen with other children in the family with more standalone names.
