Anthea - yes or no?

I think I quite like Anthea for baby DD (expected early September). But... is it old fashioned in a bad way?

Surname starting with F. I like Thea too, but Thea F- is a mouthful.

Thank you!

It does sound a bit dated. How about Andrea?

Nope sorry thought it said Athena

No- Reminds me of smug Anthea Turner.

Really like it, my reference point is Five Children and It book series. She was a good character. I think it’s a nicely old fashioned, practical, sensible sounding name.

Anthea turner makes it seem very mumsy. Also it autocorrects to anthrax. Althea is a bit nicer.

I'm sorry, but I strongly dislike Anthea, and Thea too.

I can't articulate why, but I don't seem to like 'Th' sounds in names for some probably quite irrational reason.

Apart from anything else, Anthea is very old fashioned I think. It's dated in a 1950s Carol, Barbara, Susan kind of way, rather than being quaintly old fashioned like names from the generation before like Edith, Mabel, Dorothy.

Give it another thirty years and it'll be back in fashion - unless you want to be well ahead of the curve!

I don’t like it at all. I’m not sure why, maybe because it doesn’t flow well? Sorry 😔
