Hi, my sister in law who shares the same last name, has announced that her and my brother in law are going to use our sons name as their child’s name, there is 6 years between the two kids and they don’t live near us. Example we have a James and they are going to call their son James John , am I being unreasonable to be annoyed? My husband is fine with it.

You’re not being unreasonable being annoyed - I would be too!

Frustratingly there’s not much you can do about it, but don’t feel like your over reacting.

No not a family name, i know with the age difference the two kids likely won’t be at school at the same time etc so I suppose I should just stop annoying myself and let it be.

I'd just try to get on board with it. There is no point in being annoyed really. Id try to think of it as a positive for your son.

Is it a family name?

Nobody owns a name la la la. You know the drill. Also, it's not that rare to have multiple children with the same name in extended families. YABU.

You can’t stop them feel compliments that they must like the name and him too!
