Help shorten our Baby Girl list

Baby due in July and we are struggling to find a girls name we love! Help us pick from our list:

  • Amelia
  • Phoebe
  • Rose
  • Edie

Amelia is maybe my least favourite, because it it popular but has been for a while so starting to sound a bit dated?

I love Rose. My niece is Rose, however always gets called Rosie, which although I also love, I do think it’s a shame that Rose is rarely used. So you’d have to be prepared for that I think. Amelia is nice - I had Emilia on my daughters list because I love it shortened to Emmy

Amelia is very pretty but there are about 2 in every class at my daughter’s school.

Out of these I think Rose is the nicest and classiest.

Amelia is very overdone, I think it will become dated.

Phoebe and Edie are okay but less classy than Rose.

Amelia is awful - it’s a medical condition meaning absence of limbs

Edie is too informal and nicknamey

Love Phoebe but Rose is my favourite by far - timeless, elegant classic

Edie is nice but I’d go for a longer version with Edie as a nn. Edith or Meredith perhaps.

Rose - a lovely, simple classic - this would be my pick. I also love Rosa and Rosie.

Phoebe is nice but I’m of the generation who thinks of Phoebe from friends.

Amelia is often shortened to Milly, which I quite like but not sure for an adult.

Edie is nice but a bit nicknamey and I’m not keen on Edith (do you like Eden?)

Amelia - mealy sound puts me off. Too popular
Phoebe - like, but don't like Phoebs
Rose - just a bit boring
Edie - too close to Evie. Makes me think of ED (erectile dysfunction)

Phoebe Is my favourite, followed by Rose. Love them both! I also like Edie. Personally, I’m less keen on Amelia.
