My 2 girls our Hattie and Pippa which is why I suggested it as you've got a similar taste to me.

We were put off at first for the same reason but only ever heard of this on here, never in real life. Have been abroad with no problems. So I wouldn't let this totally put you off. Only ever had positive comments on it.

My Pippa is Philippa on birth certificate so she has options as she gets older if she wants.

What a lovely combination of names for your girls - they go fabulously well together!

I absolutely adore Pippa and the meaning but unfortunately it doesn’t translate so well in Italian!! Would have loved to use it but just couldn’t burden her with that should she ever choose to work/study there

They're all lovely

Aria999 · 29/03/2024 16:34

Maia - not sure how to say so she will have a life of correcting people

The correct pronunciation is MY:ah

However the correcting can be an issue. Most people we generally meet get it right away but both sets of grandparents struggled for months (in fairness it was during covid and they didn't actually meet her for 2 years).

shakeitoffsis · 29/03/2024 16:14

Lara or Maeva. I know you said maeve but I just love Maeva.

Curlyblondefemale · 29/03/2024 16:00

Maia, Charlotte, Sasha and Anna are all lovely names.

MaiaMia · 29/03/2024 15:58

Your list has both of my DD's names and middle names so obviously we have similar taste! The only name on your list that I don't like is Sacha (I think of it as a Russian diminutive of Alexander). I do like Saskia though which is somewhat similar.
What's your preferred style overall? Traditional English/ European classic? Short and sweet? More international? Does popularity bother you- it definitely does some posters but not others?

My top name from your list is Cecily. Also love Beatrice and Charlotte. Other good names I like are Maia and Isabel

BoleynMemories13 · 29/03/2024 14:06

Lara is definitely the stand out for me, followed by Charlotte.

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 29/03/2024 11:04

Great list and congratulations 🥳

I’m a teacher so some now’s are in every class and to be honest the small changes of an Isobel as opposed to Isabella are one and the same

Beatrice
Isabel - between that and Isabella so overdone
Amelie - love it but also a lot of Amelia’s
Lara - love it
Sasha - don’t like as it’s a Russian boys name
Maia - not sure how to say so she will have a life of correcting people
Francesca - meh
Cecily - dislike
Maeve - everywhere overdone
Charlotte - love
Anna- my favourite ❤️

Amelie - seems dated. Lots of Amelia and Emilys
Lara - nice but nothingy. Laura is nicer
Sasha - ok
Maia - meh
Francesca - ok
Cecily - ok
Maeve - meh
Charlotte - nice
Anna - like. Works internationally, no spelling issues, not frilly
Harriet - like, best of the bunch but prefer Emma

miniaturepixieonacid · 29/03/2024 07:55

Great list!

Beatrice - it's ok. One of my least favourite on the list but it's a good name to take a child through life - Bea is cute.

Isabel - love it. Yes, it's popular but that's because it's a gorgeous name. Like Izzy too.

Amelie - quite like it. Much prefer it to Amelia, it's softer and prettier.

Lara - love it. One of my favourite girl names and so underused.

Sasha - like it. Quite uncommon too.

Maia - really like it if pronounced My-a. If May-a I'm less keen as it just sounds like May with a weird add on.

Francesca - love it but wouldn't want it to become Frankie. Kessa or Chesca maybe

Cecily - not keen but it's elegant.

Maeve - quite like it. I think I'd assume you were Irish.

Charlotte - love it. Another one of my favourite names. I like the full name though, wouldn't want to shorten it.

Anna - like it. Simple but pretty and timeless.

Harriet - it's ok. A bit harsh sounding. Hattie is cute.

I would choose Charlotte or Lara.
