Eloise, Noa, Noelle or Eleanor??!! Name Poll

Please help me decide on what to call my daughter.

We both love Noa but worried it’s too popular as a boy name and will forever be saying ‘no H’ and she’s a girl! Middle names Louise and Jean are honour names.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have always liked Eleanor but there are an awful lot of Ellies.
I would choose Jean of your names , it feels a little more current if that is important to you and there are many positive associations.

KirstenBlest · 18/02/2024 10:13

Eloise - gets spelt as Elouise, which is horrible
Noa - 'Noa No h'. Noah too popular
Noelle - don't like it
Eleanor - overused. Ellen-uh or Ellen-Or?

Jean Louise is much nicer than your list

maudelovesharold · 18/02/2024 10:12

Sorry, I haven’t voted, as I don’t like any of the combinations! Of your names, I would have
Eloise Noelle Jean, but I really like the name Nola, so would prefer
Eloise Nola Jean!

HyacinthBoucket · 18/02/2024 10:07

Noelle makes a nice change.

NachosAndCheese · 18/02/2024 09:58

I don’t like Noelle at all.

There are loads of Eleanors/Ellie’s.

I like Eloise.

Whydosomanywomensleepwithsuchlosers · 18/02/2024 08:51

I love Noa and its meaning but would assume a Noa was Jewish as it's a very popular name in Israel - might be awkward if you're not.

As a teacher I've only taught one Eloise in a decade, so I'm going for that.

BoleynMemories13 · 18/02/2024 08:47

Eloise is gorgeous, by far my favourite. Eloise Noa Jean :-)

Noa is problematic as a first name and Noelle so synonymous with Christmas.

Eleanor is ok but a bit dull in comparison to Eloise. Definitely Eleanor Jean Louise if you do go for this though. Louise doesn't flow at all well after Eleanor due to the strong l sounds in both.

Tigandgab · 18/02/2024 08:31

Don't like any of them sorry

theduchessofspork · 18/02/2024 08:30

Toomuchgoingon79 · 18/02/2024 08:24

Noelle or even Joelle

Only if the OP is giving birth to a character in a Dolly Parton song

theduchessofspork · 18/02/2024 08:30

Sonora25 · 18/02/2024 06:39

I would switch the middle names
Eleonor Jean Louise has a better flow

Yes I think this

Also like PP suggestion of Jean as a first name, quite fresh and due a revival

Mumoftwo1312 · 18/02/2024 08:26

Wild card option, have Jean as the first name, it's lovely.

Jean Louise.

Also consider Elaine, it's like Eleanor but lovelier imo

Toomuchgoingon79 · 18/02/2024 08:24

Noelle or even Joelle

TheVintageMum · 18/02/2024 07:58

My vote goes for Noelle, love that name.

GoodVibesHere · 18/02/2024 07:30

I like them all except Noa. Everyone will assume a boy.

Perhaps you would like Nia?

Noelle is my favourite.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 18/02/2024 07:21

They’re all lovely. Noa is a common girls name in some languages / cultures so may not be an issue of gender depending on where you are.

personally I love Eleanor because of NN Nell :)
second choice Eloise

TowerStork · 18/02/2024 07:08

I like all of those expect Noa.

breakfastdinnerandtea · 18/02/2024 07:06

Eloise doesn't really go well with Louise as a middle I don't think.
I prefer Noelle personally but think Eleanor goes best with your middle names.

Mintearo7 · 18/02/2024 07:05

Eleanor is boring. Noa confusing I agree. Noelle does remind me of Christmas. It’s not like Holly which is more common therefore not tied as much to Christmas. Eloise is nice.

Onelife2024 · 18/02/2024 06:59

Eloise gets my vote - love this! Eleanor is also great! I’m not keen on Noa for a girl, and Noelle is a Christmas word to me.

oldnorsesaga · 18/02/2024 06:55

I like Eloise, but dislike Noa so I voted for Noelle Louise Jean
Noa is male spelling of the name in some European countries and it's very trendy.

mnlkjpo24 · 18/02/2024 06:54

Personally, Eloise isn't uncommon but that doesn't matter if it doesn't matter to you.

I love Noelle and also that's definitely uncommon. I wouldn't worry about it being associated with Christmas if it doesn't bother you. I have a Christmas name and I was born in the middle of the year yet nobody ever makes that association.

All lovely names.

Sonora25 · 18/02/2024 06:52

Noelle reminds me of Christmas sorry

the other ones are better

popplego · 18/02/2024 06:50

They're all nice names but Noelle is my favourite Smile

MariaVT65 · 18/02/2024 06:49

Sonora25 · 18/02/2024 06:39

I would switch the middle names
Eleonor Jean Louise has a better flow

Yes I also agree with this!

MariaVT65 · 18/02/2024 06:48

I’ve gone for Noelle as it’s lovely and I think the other 2 will likely be shorted to Ellie, which is incredibly common atm. I have a super common first name in my age group and hate it.
