I think it is rather pretty - think Linda Evangalista..

Is it due a revival - does anyone know a Linda and would you consider it for your DDs?

hahaha does she? i'd forgotten that. actually brenda is quite nice too once you get away from its connotations.

Linda in the Nancy Mitford book names her baby Brenda

wheresthehamster · 23/03/2008 12:15

I like Lynne and wouldn't mind if that came back

princessosyth · 23/03/2008 12:14

I like Lindy.

alfiesbabe · 23/03/2008 12:13

It always sounds like there's a bit missing to me. Like it's short for Belinda, or Melinda or something. And agree it's very 60s.

lljkk · 23/03/2008 12:04

Linda does mean 'pretty' in Spanish. I wouldn't choose it myself (I like others better), but if you like it, go for it.

MaryAnnSmotheredinchocolate · 23/03/2008 11:59

One of my friends is called Linda and there's a nice Caesaria Evora song called Linda Mimosa which makes me think of her...

meemar · 23/03/2008 11:55

Doesn't it mean 'pretty' in Spanish (or is it Italian?)

It's very plain sounding in English though.

wheresthehamster · 23/03/2008 11:55

It's in that folder marked '60s names - not due for revival yet' along with Susan, Carol, Karen and Sharon

mom2latinoboys · 23/03/2008 11:52
