Help me decide please?
Emma or Emily?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Maybe best avoid both names then if you're concerned about popularity. Op, hopefully you have a less common surname?

KirstenBlest · 01/02/2024 14:05

@sunflowerpinks , it was overused in the 1970s. It's not much used for babies for decades. Emily's been pretty popular during that time, so there will be more of them in schools, workplaces etc

vanillaspice235 · 01/02/2024 14:01

Both lovely.

Emily comes in as a personal first place. Emma following closely after.

Congratulations and GL, OP 💫

Emma. Emily is wet.

I agree, I think it's so dull and dreary... and unfortunately it is my name 😂

Thank you everyone

I like Emily best.

I think Emma is a bit blah.

sunflowerpinks · 01/02/2024 13:53

Emma is less overused currently, but I know at least 5 adult Emmas, two of which have the exact same name and surname Confused

TallulahBetty · 01/02/2024 13:48

Emma. Emily is wet.

HaggisHuntress · 01/02/2024 13:46

I have an Emily. Definitely love that one. It's more... I don't know. Classical? Prettier? Fancier? In my view anyway.

DinnaeFashYersel · 01/02/2024 13:43

Both are lovely. Slight preference for Emily. But you won't go wrong with either.

MaloneMeadow · 01/02/2024 13:39

Emma❤️

Bigtom · 01/02/2024 13:37

Emma for sure

Onelife2024 · 01/02/2024 13:26

Emma gets my vote! One of my favourite ever names. Classic, suits all ages. Emily is lovely too, but I just love the simple clean sound of Emma.

ReadtheReviews · 01/02/2024 13:18

Emily!!

KirstenBlest · 01/02/2024 12:59

Emma. Always loved it. Emily blends in with all the Amelia/Emilia/Amelies.

x2boys · 01/02/2024 12:55

Both lovely names if I had to pick I think Emma is more classic but there's not much in it .

InTheRainOnATrain · 01/02/2024 12:52

They’re both nice! Emma you run the risk of half the class mums turning round when you shout it at a party because it was so popular in the late 80s/early 90s. Emily you don’t hear anywhere near as often which is nice but it does blend in with the Amelia, Emilia type names that are quite popular at the moment and I can’t be the only toddler parent to think Emily Elephant because they were up at 6.30am watching Peppa bloody Pig. Overall though both classic names and you can’t go wrong with either!

fiskita · 01/02/2024 12:52

Emma! Lovely name and a bit less frilly than Emily. I'd also say less used these days.
