Ingo would be beter.

Ingo is Ing-go to rhyme with Ringo BTW.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 01/02/2024 19:57

It's terrible!!!! Remember you are naming a real person not a doll.

Ellmau · 01/02/2024 19:56

Ingo would be beter.

Throwawayme · 29/01/2024 22:17

Don't be daft. It's not a name

localnotail · 29/01/2024 22:16

It sounds like you are tying to say Enzo with a mouth full of food

BarelyCoping123 · 29/01/2024 22:07

Just no

SpeculatingRooks · 29/01/2024 20:34

What about Engie Benjy?
Or Jollop
Or Dan

WeeOrcadian · 29/01/2024 20:32

Sounds like a medicinal condition

Back to the drawing board!

Allthatglittersisntart · 29/01/2024 20:05

It reminds me of the name of a rescue dog I had as a child- whose previous owners called Enzo. But that is also a perfectly reasonable human name(especially for Italians!).
Also sounds a bit too much like ‘and go’. It could work in other languages though.

SueBranchers · 29/01/2024 20:01

do you actually want him to be bullied? sorry but this is setting him up for failure from the start. imo this is perpetuating the patriarchal view that boys need interesting names. just call it james and move on tbh

lapochette · 28/01/2024 19:24

Enzo is lovely but is Enjo not a company that sells cleaning products?

carbuncleonapigsposterior · 28/01/2024 15:26

Written down it could be mistaken for ergo, therefore not a name!

PaulCostinRIP · 28/01/2024 15:26

Awful but I do like Enzo.

HowDoTheyGetThroughLife · 28/01/2024 15:20

Ridiculous and made-up

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 28/01/2024 15:19

I thought people would read it with j as it looks like Engine?

No, because the letter 'g' only sounds like 'j' before an 'i' or an 'e' or a 'y'. Otherwise it is a hard 'g'.

ThewaytoAmarula · 28/01/2024 15:17

It makes me think of Pingu for some reason! I think his friends were all called things like Pinga, Pingo etc.

Leafbuds · 28/01/2024 15:15

Engo frictionless anti-blister patches are great to stick inside your shoes for where they rub. Really doesn't sound like a child's name (or anyone's name!).

And yes, you need an 'i' 'e' or 'y' after a 'g' to make a 'j' sound (most of the time).

Bigearringsbigsmile · 28/01/2024 14:59

Why not just...Joe?

YourWinter · 28/01/2024 13:34

Ridiculous, stupid and cruel.

Robinhoods · 28/01/2024 13:33

Ok got it! Time to think of a different name!

OP posts:
peaceinourtime · 28/01/2024 13:23

At first glance it looks like En-yo, a company or a product.

DuchessOfSausage · 28/01/2024 13:23

@Robinhoods , I thought people would read it with j as it looks like Engine?
The i after g in engine changes the sound to a g sound.

Chersfrozenface · 28/01/2024 13:07

All the words I can think of ending in -ngo have a hard G - lingo, bingo, jingo, mango, tango, flamingo

Robinhoods · 28/01/2024 13:03

I thought people would read it with j as it looks like Engine?

But thanks all! We will try think of a different one
