Brilliant

I’m obviously missing the hilarity in seven dead babies.

My dd is Lucy. She seems quite happy with is as an adult. I say choose any name you like as a middle name. I don't particularly agree with the idea that they have to go together, as long as they are easy to say together on the rare occasions that it's necessary. Just another chance to slip in another name that you like.

I have a Lucy Albertine ( family connection ) and she was the only one in her primary for a few years until a younger one joined the school. In year 8 now there is one other Lucy. I think you can pretty much use any name you like with it.

I always said her twin name would be Lola or Lily.

Lucy Kate

Lucy is fine for when she is a little girl, but maybe something more substantial for the woman she is going to be for most of her life, not another ee ending name (Sophie, Emily, Lily).

ChiefEverythingOfficer · 28/01/2024 05:04

Literally all names go with Lucy. It is a fine, no-fuss name. You will never have a problem with pronunciation and it's easy to spell.

Prepare for your child to be known as Lucy <Initial> at school - I think there were five in one year, 3 in my child's class.

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 28/01/2024 04:52

I love Lucy. It’s been top of our list forever and we’ll almost certainly use it if we ever have a daughter. We also like Chloe, Hannah and Eve and I think they go well with Lucy as sibling names.

I have a Lucy.
We don't know any others at all but I was at school with 2 in the 80s. I think it's one of those classic names that everyone knows and people believe is more popular that it actually is.
I like it with a single syllable middle name or two middle names to flow nicely.

Rowgtfc72 · 27/01/2024 20:43

Not sure if you mean middle name or not.
Our Lucy is Lucy May.

Underestimated4 · 27/01/2024 20:38

My little girls middle name is Lucy

I think Sophie, Maisie, Bonnie, maddie, Evie, ruby, or even something like Lena, Lilly, Lottie … names that end in ie or y go well.
