Boy names that are heavenly or star related

I am 18 weeks pregnant with a baby who we are likely to lose as the baby is very unwell.

I really want to name the baby and I don’t know if it is a boy or girl. I think we have a girls name sorted and we like the name Seren.

None of my boy names seem to suit anymore. I’d like a name with a meaning that either feels celestial or heavenly.

So sorry you're going through this 😞

Gabriel is gorgeous

AndrewGarfieldsLaptop · 16/01/2024 19:25

Gabriel is one of God's favourite angels.

I have been here too, back in 2021. I'm thinking of you and your little one. x

NoHeavenNoMore · 16/01/2024 19:25

Gabriel 💙

Allymayd · 16/01/2024 19:23

So sorry that you’re going through this. In case you haven’t been put in touch with these, the following charities may be very helpful for you:
Sands,
Remember my baby (although I think they may only be able to help if your baby is born closer to 24 weeks plus gestation), Cherised Angle Gowns,
Tommys,

In terms of names Gabriel is a lovely heavenly name for a boy.

KatyPerryMenopause · 16/01/2024 19:14

Thinking of you OP.
Seren is lovely. Taren I knew but the interpretation of Taran given above is beautiful.

Samzzz · 16/01/2024 19:02

I’m so sorry, I can only imagine what you’re going through.

I came across Astro which is Greek and means ‘of the stars’ which I think is just beautiful ✨

LovelyBranches · 14/01/2024 22:25

Thank you very much for your replies. I think we’ve found a name from all of your suggestions if the baby is a boy.

Unfortunately the likelihood of losing the baby is extremely high, but our eldest dc has really clung to the idea that the baby will be in the stars looking over us so it seemed fitting that baby should have a celestial or heavenly name.

Celestine: heavenly; of the sky. is a gender-neutral name of Latin origin.

Greeneyegirl · 14/01/2024 22:12

I like the suggestion of Atlas earlier. It feels ever present and all encompassing. Like he will be with you in every bit of the world. I'm not explaining it well. So sorry for the challenges you are facing.

Justpontificating · 14/01/2024 21:55

Benedict…….meaning ‘blessed’. Or ‘ the blessed one’.

HoHoHoliday · 14/01/2024 21:52

So sorry to read about your situation.

Seren is a beautiful name!

Some boys names with meanings you might think appropriate:
Aidan
Jesse
Nathanial
Noah

It's also completely valid to choose a name with an irrelevant meaning just because you love the name and want to use it for your baby.

MrsBobtonTrent · 14/01/2024 21:36

Aster
But like Nova above as well.

best wishes to you & baby OP.

Reading your post, I thought immediately of Cosmo (or Cosimo), and Cosima.

Birchtree1 · 14/01/2024 20:03

I have friends who lost a baby boy. They called him Milan. Which is a red kite. And also an Eastern European name. About 25 years ago. Still love the name

NeverGuessWho · 14/01/2024 19:59

Oh OP, I will be saying a prayer for your baby and your whole family.
Sending you love.
Gabriel and Nova, are beautiful names, as many PPs have already suggested.
Seren, too, is just gorgeous.

ikmow · 14/01/2024 19:57

Sorry your baby isn't very well

I love the name Nova

bobomomo · 14/01/2024 19:52

Gabriel seems most appropriate, though Nathaniel works too.
So sorry op, will be thinking about you - please don't forget your local church can offer you support at this difficult time, we unfortunately have experience of this.

43ontherocksporfavor · 14/01/2024 19:48

Seraphim

IHatesMeecesToPieces · 14/01/2024 19:31

Cosmo
Tarak is a boy's name that means star and protector in Sanskrit.
Suhail I believe also means star.

Gabriel

JussathoB · 14/01/2024 19:28

I love Gabriel as it is the name of an angel. Wow there are some fabulous suggestions on here OP, I really hope they are bringing you some hope and comfort.
another poster suggested Lucien, which is so beautiful.

11NigelTufnel · 14/01/2024 19:23

My first thought was Orion, and therefore also Archer. Isaac or Newton.

Also, Cyprus, Jupiter, Leo, Thor.
