Which Greek names will be the next big thing?

We don't have any on our list so far, except for Chloe which is quite mainstream, but it seems like they are very trendy now and I just thought about this today and was wondering which one you think will become popular next.

Right now Penelope is really popular as well as Athena. I think Daphne, Apollo, Atlas are all rising quickly. Zoe, Chloe and Phoebe were popular in the past.

Which one of these has a chance and have you noticed any? I'm just so curious:

Antigone - I heard this is rising quickly among posh people, can anyone confirm?

Persephone - Saw this a few times, too.

Calliope

Nephele

Nike

Atlas

Apollo

Ares - I've seen this a few times too.

Eurydice

Any ideas?

It's just out of curiosity, because I'm intrigued. The only one on our list so far is Chloe, but I'm thinking about adding Phoebe again. I guess we're not brave enough for Persephone, even though I like it.

I met a family with a 2 year old named Persephone and a new born named Neptune (appreciate that’s a Roman god not Greek) the other day actually….

Persephone is definitely more popular, but I think Neptune is still very unusual. For good reason lol.

Circe - but GOT might need to retreat into the distance a bit more

I also like Ismene, but she was a bit of a drip

I like Athene more than Athene, but I like must of them other than Daphne which is too daffy

Imo these names are far too "heavy" to be used for children today, especially English children who have no Greek roots.
I don't think even the Greeks use them much, they are from the Mythology and that's where they belong.

The Greek myths are part of the foundation of Western Culture. It’s the same as using the names from the bible (v few people do that because they are religious).

The fury's are keen on Greek names!! Might be why trend 😂, but there are sooo many names that stem from Ancient Greece! Many of them are lovely

I've mentioned Antigone to my husband a few times but can't get him on board 🤦🏻‍♀️ He's very set on Hero as Much Ado is his fav Shakespeare play 😂

I know plenty Hera, Hero, Helen, Penelope, Artemis, Atlas, Ophelia, the children in my son’s class don’t bat an eyelid. I think Athena was avoided to the poster place but now it doesn’t exist it might make a come back … might have to wait a while for Zeus, Poseidon, Gaia and Hades though 👍

It's a great name, one of my pet pigs is called Hypatia.

Theo, for a boy, quite ubiquitous.

Ari names - Ariadne, Ares, Aria, Ariana - I think collectively seem popular but I only know one of each.

I only know one Tiggy short for Antigone.

This is making me smile. My daughter Artemis is nearly 30, and my little Granddaughter is Hera. (My daughter loves her name, always has and was adamant that it was never shortened)

Greeks don’t really use names like Xanthe or Xenia for their dcs now. Unless naming after grandparents, which is traditional.

They are older names - most I know are 50+.

My name is vile so I hope I never see it on a list of names though still quite popular in Cyprus and Greece but only because of naming after grandparents!
