Caroline ‘Caggie’ - thoughts?

im expecting my first child a little girl and wondered what people thought to the name Caroline with the nickname ‘caggie’?

Middle name would be Mia, so Caroline ‘Caggie’ Mia. Or Caroline Mia. NOT double barrel can I add.

Caroline is okay. Caggie is hideous. So many pretty short versions of Caroline: Caro, Cara, Carrie. Cass, Cassie, Callie, Lina. Why choose claggy caggie?

Caroline is fine, if slightly dated. Still a nice name though.

Caggie is just awful. Ugly and sounds like you got something stuck in your throat! Carrie or perhaps Cally would be my preference for shortening Caroline.

Caggie sounds almost exactly like cacky which is slang for shit/shitty as in “cacky pants” or “he’s cacking himself” and an unrepeatable slang word for a gay man.
Also sounds far too close to claggie. Would you like to be called claggie?
Just give your dd a nice name, like Caroline.

Carrie as a nickname, yes.

The first series of Big Brother had a god-awful woman called Caggie in it. The word sounds revolting, it’s a horrible nickname.

If someone nicknamed their baby Caggie I’d assume they watched too much reality TV and wanted to attempt to seem posh. But as it’s just a nickname, it doesn’t really matter. Caroline is uncontroversial and she can easily ditch the Caggie if she hates it.

Caroline is beautiful, Caggie really isn't! Sorry, but I find it both strange and quite ugly. It's Carrie or Caro normally I think? Or apparently in Victorian times or earlier they would use 'Caddy' (there's one in 'Bleak House'), but I don't think that would fly nowadays. Containers and golfing assistants spring to mind!

I knew a Kaggie in primary school, she was a Katherine. She started at my school halfway through and we just knew her as Kaggie. Kaggie/Caggie is a beautiful name OP. Don’t be put off children like with Kaggie just accept and go with the name.

Unless you are vair posh and she will have friends called Bunty and Octavia, Caggie sounds like how I might describe some cream that's gone off.

Better NN for Caroline are Caz, Cazzy or Carrie.

Caroline (nicknamed Caggy) was also the name of a contestant in the first series of Big Brother. Yes, I know that’s going back a bit.

I really like Caroline, but I’m afraid I’m yet another person who doesn’t like Caggy.
