Great for a horse looks at horse called Clover 👀

LefthandRight · 01/01/2024 09:49

What about just Clove

anothernamechangeagainsndagain · 01/01/2024 09:47

@LemongrassLollipop

My friend's favourite cow is called clementine! She has over 100 but Clemmie is a sort of pet, hangs out in the garden

Whatadayyyy · 01/01/2024 09:47

I like it but I associate it more with a cat/dog name than a baby name

Deliadidit · 01/01/2024 09:45

i think it’s lovely

anothernamechangeagainsndagain · 01/01/2024 09:44

It's a cow's name, sorry.

WashItTomorrow · 01/01/2024 09:44

I like it.

Sorethroatandearache · 01/01/2024 09:44

I have always loved it as a name but reading the responses to this thread realise it's probably a no go for a baby. I don't use margarine so didn't make the brand-name association at all.

Clover Stroud is a writer - she's the only person I can think of who has the name. It's quite "cottage-core" so I can imagine it becoming more popular.

Datafan55 · 01/01/2024 09:43

I thought 'rabbit in Watership Down'!

Eybyegum · 01/01/2024 09:43

I love it. Feels like I shouldn’t but I do

Notellinganyone · 01/01/2024 09:41

Lovely. It’s the name of Katy Carr’s sister in ‘What Katy Did’. Don’t listen to the butter crowd.

Delassalle · 01/01/2024 09:39

I instantly think of the song

Roll me over
In the clover,
Roll me over, lay me down
And do it again.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 01/01/2024 09:38

I immediately thought of a cow too.

GoodVibesHere · 01/01/2024 09:33

Some flower and herb names just don't work for humans. It would be a bit like calling a child Parsley or Dandelion.

LemongrassLollipop · 01/01/2024 09:31

Instantly think of a cow 🐮

What about Clemmie/Clementine?

Latenightreader · 01/01/2024 09:28

I love it - Clover in the Katy books was a really nice character.

susiedaisy1912 · 01/01/2024 09:28

No that's awful. Sorry op but clover is a word that definitely needs to stay in the dairy industry

MoreHairyThanScary · 01/01/2024 09:26

Reminds me of a song "Roll me over in the clover"

I love the name but would struggle with the link

Bangkokbaby · 01/01/2024 09:26

Makes me think of Katie's sister Clover in What Kate did next. I loved the books as a child so think it's a lovely name!

MarleyandMarleyWoooo · 01/01/2024 09:25

It’s absolutely awful.

TootenCarMoon · 01/01/2024 09:24

Clover lives in a field with her best cow buddy Daisy.

Mielbee · 01/01/2024 09:24

It feels a bit like the name of a cow but I do also really like it!

Kalevala · 01/01/2024 09:24

Cow

Freefree · 01/01/2024 09:24

I have known 3 dogs named clover.
I don't associate it as a child's name.

Luigia · 01/01/2024 09:23

It’s a name I associate with dairy, sorry.
