Due Any day now for a sibling (gender unknown but nub theory suggested girl) for siblings

Florence Xanthe (Flossie)
Hamish Xavier
and
Rory Ivo

We quite like slightly more traditional first names and more of the moment middle names. Current options below but none feel ‘right’. Names we can’t use are Angus, Freya, Duncan and Poppy.

Otto
Christian (Kit)
Fergus
Dorothy/ea
Margot
Constance
Theodora
Elizabeth/Eliza

I was going to say Angus, but since you can't use it , Fergus. Or Frazer?

For a girl - Eliza. Or Ailsa?

Annabel if it’s a girl, Fergus for a boy, or one of my current faves, Kit or Kester?

I love Heather and Margaret as suggested ^^. But imagine they won't be popular names! A wee Maggie though. Cute!

I'm loving Mabel at the moment.

Doublebiscuit77 · 31/12/2023 10:39

I love your boys' names, especially Otto, but agree it doesn't fit. Christian is unusual and Kit is a great nn.

Euan, Malcolm, Jacob, Farley, Philip nn Pip, Struan, Finn, Stefan?

I like Theodora and Dorothea.

Margaret (Maggie or Peggy), Bridget, Beatrice, Clemency, Matilda, Petra, Antonia, Nina, Imogen

TheIsleOfTheLost · 31/12/2023 08:56

My first thought with those names was Angus, but I see you can't use that, so Logan.

Girls names, Iona and Skye.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 31/12/2023 06:05

There are also so many Latin/Greek/French names you can go in for. I’ve always loved Aurélie which in the anglicised version is Aurelia, or there’s Lydia for example, very underrated in my view. Or the slightly more out there ones like Ottoline or the older Biblical names maybe like Dorcas. Or there are the pretty older English names like Eleanor. Maybe not Lettice (100% genuine noble lady’s name in the 14th century). From a personal point of view I’ve always favoured my second name (Rose, prefer Rosie). But maybe read some books and see what inspiration you gather!

I’d go with Dorothy or Margot for a girl. Not Elizabeth, everyone is bloody well called that.

Sugarfree23 · 31/12/2023 03:05

I think you need another Scottish name
Heather,
Louise/ Louisa
Lorna
Rhoana (check spelling)
Margaret
