Opinions for triplets!

CultraSloan · 29/12/2023 18:59

We are blessed enough to be having triplets due next month - a boy and two girls!

90% sure that DH and I are certain on their names but something in me keeps saying that they’re just not right. I’m Irish and he’s English, living in Northern Ireland but planning a move abroad in the future so we’ve chosen names that represent both our backgrounds yet are still quite mainstream and (hopefully) easy to pronounce. Any opinions good or bad very welcomed!

Conor Alexander
Maeve Isabel
Beatrice Fiadh (pronounced Fia, as in Mia)

Congratulations. I hope you and the babies are doing well.

All the names are beautiful. You were right to go with Beatrice, I think you'd regret not going with a name you always loved 😍

Update: all 3 babies arrived safely (albeit a bit early) on Wednesday. In NICU but all doing really well and expected to be discharged over the next few weeks. We have decided to go for our original ideas:

Conor Alexander
Maeve Isabel
Beatrice Fiadh

Thank you so much everyone for all of your help and well wishes!! X

Congratulations! Hope you're all doing well. Definitely reach out to local multiple groups, mums of multiples are the best. It's a rollercoaster but it DEFINITELY gets easier so hold that thought when it gets overwhelming in the first few months.

Congratulations!! I have a Maeve (born in April) and love all your names. Glad you are all doing well

Congratulations! Lovely names. I don't think the names have to 'match' and if Beatrice is your favourite name, you might kick yourself of you don't use it. If a friend called their child Beatrice, will you look at her and feel regret you didn't go for it, for example?

@DesertSnow Yes, their names are all definitely solid now, thank goodness. Beatrice has been my favourite name since I can remember so not to use just didn’t feel right! Very glad I went with my gut in the end x

And congratulations!!! Hope you are recovering well

Purpleandredandyellow · 12/01/2024 20:20

Love Conor (not Connor) Maeve and Beatrice. I think they go well together and aren't overly matchy! (Am Irish living in Ireland)

The only one that'll be a challenge in Canada will be maeve for spellings but it's easy to explain pronunciation.

Fiadh is lovely but so popular now!

Vexxa · 12/01/2024 19:33

Congratulations OP. Beautiful names. Glad they are arrived safely.

I love all three names and think they are perfect.
Honestly if you keep changing your mind it will drive you potty.

@Moier These are the exact names that we originally went for, no changes of mind/other thoughts in weeks. Pippa was only an idea!

Like them all OP and they don't need to be matchy matchy. They are all great stand alone and the girls names don't sound like one has done better than the other.

MalcolmTuckersDisdainfulSneer · 31/12/2023 20:59

Thank you - I didn't know that and I used to live in France! I just thought it was the same as idiot

MerryChristmasToYou · 31/12/2023 17:02

It's like saying idiot in an offensive way, @MalcolmTuckersDisdainfulSneer .
