I've got a jack and have recently had a Toby, if that helps :)

I think jack and Max sound pretty similar so might get a bit confusing maybe?

There are two brothers on eastenders with those names, just in case that bothers you.

Thanks all. We already have a Jack, and his brother was born a week ago and is still nameless 😬 me and husband cannot agree on a name! We had a shortlist and tried a few out for a day, but we now each dislike each others first choice. I have people telling me that I carried and laboured him etc and therefore tell my husband to do one (which is tempting) but ultimately I can't bring myself to enforce a name which he genuinely doesn't like. Arghh it's bloody hard!!

Both nice, go in theory, but would the sounds get confused when calling up the stairs etc? I think maybe when slightly muffled they’d sound pretty similar. How about Leo, Otto, Miles/ Milo, Fred(die), Rafe or Will/ Wilf?

I don’t think they are two similar. It might not matter to you but both are very common names now.

I don't think they are.

I get that if calling them from another room, you get the long 'aaaa' sound, but initials are different. Both nice names with a similar vibe.
I'd use them both quite happily for brothers.
