I am so stuck. I have girls' names galore, please give me nice slightly arty boys' names that won't get hugely popular in a year or two

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mamazee · 16/03/2008 20:38

i don't like clem either franny...sounds kind of medical or something.
what about red ?

Swedes · 16/03/2008 20:34

Aliway - and waste 15 years of the child's life as he is asked: Isaac, how do you spell that?

Aliway · 16/03/2008 20:33

Isaac is a nice name and not hugely over used as far as i'm aware

Swedes · 16/03/2008 20:32

I love Otto. I like palindromes. Good and solid, no nonsense.

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2008 20:29

I really don't like Clem - the way it looks or sounds
funny how you all love it

Leander sounds hmmm soo not my tasse de thé..

Clement is sweet

I like Clarence too

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/03/2008 20:18

Franny one of your short list is one of my dc's name !!! (exited emotion!)

Also an obscure name i initially picked for my baby keeps popping up..most odd but means i cannot use it

where is the lovely Hatrick it's not like my lady to miss out on one of these threads?

LarryVeest · 16/03/2008 20:07

Meh...I suppose we'll have to agree to differ on Lysander Aitch. Clem is very lovely...although it does rhyme with phlegm.

Aitch · 16/03/2008 20:06

if it's lysander, lar, yer on yer own...

LarryVeest · 16/03/2008 20:03

I'm wondering whether or not to post DS's name. It got slated last time, and I have to admit it stung a bit.

Maybe I'll wait til this thread gets closer to 1000 posts, then I'll quickly bung it in and run away

Aitch · 16/03/2008 20:01

sandy is a delightful boys name, but as an abbreviation of alexander. seriously, lysander is the name of a child who has ishoos.

BBBee · 16/03/2008 19:58

dorian?
oscar?

otto is very good.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/03/2008 19:52

Wendy do you like my Dr Zhivago esque Pasha?

LarryVeest · 16/03/2008 19:15

Just popped back to defend Lysander. Of course you wouldn't shorten it to Lice, Aitch you dork It would be Sandy, which is a very dashing and heroic name, I think you'll agree. BTW Aitch, other than Lysander we seem to have v similar taste in boy names: Vincent, Frances, Laurie...

msappropriate · 16/03/2008 19:14

Gus

MadameCh0let · 16/03/2008 19:11

What about Richie? I think it's a better version of Archie. Less predictable.
Or Victor? I'm sick of Oscar, but I so ready to meet a little Victor.

Annortherner · 16/03/2008 18:16
