Weirdest name you've encountered in real life?

Slightly piggy backing off another thread in this topic but just really curious about this.

Obviously we've all heard of some very unusual suggestions on this site and we can all think of a celeb that's opted for something very unique but in your day to day life what would you say is most unusual you've come across?

For me it'd probably be Maverick for a boy and Lavender-Lily for a girl.

OP posts:

@Pocketfullofdogtreats Solstice is actually quite cool! Maybe for a girl though? I have one but don’t want to say as I’d probably out myself if any mums from my DD’s class were on here and can’t be arsed to NC!

My own children’s names are a bit ‘one of a kind’ but they are old family names and they suit them. I’ve met all sorts of kids and some double take ones - but most children choose to shorten or lengthen them or style them out.
I’ve taught a Hudson, Huxley, Hola etc all great guys and totally own their name.

A baby girl called Senna. Which sounds lovely - unless you are aware it's also a very commonly prescribed laxative. I wouldn't want to be named after it, even if it is a (bowel opening) nice flower.

bellocchild · 21/11/2023 20:33

Dieone (pronounced Dee-own) and Tia Maria.

Yes some answers so simply reflect the diversity of one's surroundings. We have a Gift and a King at school, but the name isn't really that unusual within the context of our schools diversity.

I have a friend who's grandson is Zephyr. I think it's amazing. I love it. Definitely should have been on our list.

It's possible the names we did use would make this list tho 🤣

Yes, I live in a very diverse city. My children went to school with kids called Precious, Jamaica,Kingston, Princess , Bliss etc and no one thought they were weird names.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 21/11/2023 20:29

Solstice, a boy.
