4th girl name-Stella, Ella, Poppy or Ivy

We have just had our 4th girl. All very close in age(under 5). Zara, Olivia, Rosie are their names so looking for a nice match that goes well with these. We also had Sienna & Victoria on the list but have removed them due to their length, going to stick with a 2 syllable name. Mia & Hazel I also quite like but my husbands not wild on them so it’s between Stella(my husbands least fave), Ella, Poppy or Ivy

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Isla is pretty and Sienna is OK

WhyMeWhyNowWhyNot · 18/11/2023 23:38

Poppy is so twee - great on a toddler but not so great on a grown woman.

Ella is my favourite but it is very common.

As PP said, Isla is lovely as an alternative 😊

HardcoreLadyType · 18/11/2023 23:35

I don’t like any of these, except Stella.

Clare2023 · 18/11/2023 23:33

mmm maybe we shouldn’t have disgarded Sienna. It is a pretty name.
I wasn’t sure if it worked well with the names I have? I also don’t think the other kids will be able to pronounce it, but I don’t mind the shortening to SISi anyway.
it seems like a marmite name. A lot of ppl seem to think it’s awful!!😂

Like Stella and Ella. Poppy is OK. Not keen on Ivy especially as it is family member's name and she always hated it - she has a birthday around Christmas.

SneezyEvie · 18/11/2023 06:50

My favourite is Sienna. You say it so fast, it sounds like a 2 syllable name and it flows so well with the others.

Birdsongsinging · 18/11/2023 03:45

Stella then Poppy.

Feliciacat · 18/11/2023 03:42

Of those names I prefer Poppy (one of my names if I ever get pregnant!). I do agree that Poppy and Ivy are not fantastic with Rosie though.

Ella is a popular choice and I like it too. Appreciate what you say about it being mixed up with Ellie. Have you considered Eleanor (my other future DD name choice). I know it’s not two syllables BUT you could shorten it to Ella or Nora and I think Nora goes well with your other names.

Congratulations on so many lovely daughters!

Lifeinlists · 18/11/2023 03:41

Ella was the most popular on your other thread. The few Ellas I've taught are all known as Ella, probably because that's their name, and why would you change it when it's short and sweet.

junbean · 18/11/2023 03:32

My 4th is Poppy so yours should be too! 😊 It's such a cute and happy name!

octoberfarm · 18/11/2023 03:19

I think Ivy goes beautifully with the other kids' names. Congrats!

Stella or Estelle are my faves.

Consider ..
Stella/Ella Victoria

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 17/11/2023 15:25

They are all lovely names .

Probably not Stella if that's your husband's least favourite .

Your older girls have lovely names too.

Kaamos · 17/11/2023 15:18

Stella

ODFOx · 17/11/2023 15:12

Zara, Olivia, Rosie and....
Ella
Poppy
Ivy
....are all nice names.
I don't think Poppy and Ivy work with Rosie.
Ella is OK, but not as good a fit as Sienna.

Why did you decide Sienna is too long? Same number of syllables as Olivia and fits with the other three names beautifully!
Otherwise Jenny; underused but pretty and matches well.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 17/11/2023 13:37

Of those my favourite is Ella

piscofrisco · 17/11/2023 13:28

Any but Ella. Stella is best followed by Ivy then poppy.

MaloneMeadow · 17/11/2023 13:12

Not Poppy! My biggest regret at the minute is letting DD name our puppy Poppy. Overused, no real nickname opportunities and keeps spell correcting to poopy🙈 Also 2 flower names is a bit much.

Love Ella, really dislike Ivy and Stella. Granny names!!

Clare2023 · 17/11/2023 12:11

Thanks for your comments. Ella seems to be the most liked when I talk to people but our worry is that there are alot of variations of it such as Ellie etc.
Its a pretty name but between Ella & Ivy I’m thinking Ivy might be a stronger name!

Ella (followed by Poppy) Congratulations OP!

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/11/2023 10:35

Ivy!

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 17/11/2023 09:52

Stella is rather lovely.Congratulations on your new baby girl 💐

dixeypeach · 17/11/2023 09:50

Ivy out of those. Have you considered isla, that goes lovely with your other girls names

TheDuchessOfMN · 17/11/2023 09:47

I actually think that both Sienna or Victoria flow beautifully with those names.

Of those, I like Ella best. I agree that you shouldn’t go for Stella if it’s your husband’s least favourite.

Congrats!

JamSandle · 17/11/2023 09:46
