I know a newborn and a 2 year old called Laura. I think it's sweet

BerriesCones · 15/11/2023 11:12

Nice

CJ7 · 15/11/2023 11:11

I really like it.

KatBurglar · 15/11/2023 09:33

Lovely name

sweetpotato29 · 15/11/2023 09:30

I have a cousin called Laura (in her 40s) and know about 10 others as friends (30s and 20s), it's way too common in my life for me to ever pick as a name. Same with James for a boy!

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/11/2023 08:22

It's a classic

Yes I have a cousin who was born in the 80s named Laura but it was also the name of my great grandmother and there are a few dotted around in my family at all different ages.

I really like it

LulooLemon · 14/11/2023 23:09

Beautiful name

1212testing · 14/11/2023 22:11

Laura is a lovely name

Spidey66 · 14/11/2023 22:09

I like it. I think it's ageless.

Holidayhell22 · 14/11/2023 22:07

I think it’s a classic name.

Rockmehardplace · 14/11/2023 22:04

I love it, and it was on my list. Suits a little girl or an adult and I would have loved to have been called it.

funnily enough my grandmother, born 1916, always referred to it as “an old lady’s name” as when she was young, it was only old women who were called it!

Summerscoming23 · 14/11/2023 21:45

I like Laura,know so many.

Lauren Is also nice or laurie-lee

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/11/2023 21:42

I love it. DH would have wanted it if we'd had another daughter and I would have been happy with it too

rockpoolingtogether · 14/11/2023 21:41

Classic pretty name. Solid choice

StamppotAndGravy · 14/11/2023 18:19

My French teacher was called Laureline, which would shorten to Laura and I thought was wonderfully romantic sounding

Draculina · 14/11/2023 18:18

I really like the name, but not the English pronounciation of it (Lora). I like the Italian and Scandinavian pronounciation (Lau-rah).

Liv999 · 14/11/2023 18:10

Really dislike it, it's very dated, the Lauras I know are all 40 and 50 something

Theoldwoman · 14/11/2023 13:31

I love it!
Top ten for me.
Im a big Little House on the Prairie fan!

Somewhatchallenging · 14/11/2023 13:06

RaceToTheMiddle · 14/11/2023 12:56

I maybe biased but it’s an amazing name 😄

Also I have about 6 friends also called Laura (all in 40’s!)

feellikeanalien · 14/11/2023 12:53

I think it's a lovely name. My niece is a Laura. and she's lovely. She was a mid 90s baby .

peaceinourtime · 14/11/2023 12:48

Laura is a lovely name, go for it

Noshowlomo · 14/11/2023 08:05

It’s a lovely name and all the older names are making a come back anyway. (And it’s not that old!)
If we had a girl I wanted to call her Esther ! I love older names

BABB2017 · 14/11/2023 08:00

My almost 2 year old is a Laura. Love the name and really suits our family.

Scottyme · 14/11/2023 07:46

Don't mention it to anyone until your baby arrives. I just sat there going through baby name lists and dropped the name in to see my mums reaction and she hated the name we chose, we still chose it.

I could have been a Laura but I ended up a 'Roof' 😭 I wish my mum had been firmer in that argument 😂
