Finley or Barnaby?

My 3 week old needs a name. Brother is Fred. Open to other options too!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not Fred and Barn(ab)y. Too Flintstones. If Finley is your other choice then go with that.

Fred and Barnaby.

Others I like:

Fred and Avery
Fred and Cosmo
Fred and Miles
Fred and Weston
Fred and Rupert
Fred and Maurice
Fred and Christopher
Fred and Quentin
Fred and Peter

Finley is a lovely name. But the F initial is the same as your other son so I would avoid that.

Barnaby is a bears name.

What about Miles or Jago?

Barnaby.

Finley and Fred sounds like a childrens TV show.

But if Barnaby gets shortened to Barney then the OPs family become The Flintstones

All great names but I would avoid having 2 starting with the same initial. I prefer Barnaby anyway, but Fred and Barney is too Flintstone for me, sorry!

BoleynMemories13 · 12/11/2023 11:54

I much prefer Finley as an individual name. Barnaby isn't my style at all.

Normally I would advise different initials regardless of own personal opinion of the names. However, you can't have a Fred and Barnaby as he will inevitably become Barney.

Flintstones, meet the Flintstones...

Sorry

Finley is lovely and, despite the same initials, Fred and Finley/Fin sound fine together to my ears.

Barnaby. Having different initials will be helpful as they get older.
