Need an usual/uncommon girl's name

We cannot think of a girls name we like that isn't really popular.

Names we like but for various reason probably won't use are;

Storm
Sloane
Lovella
Quinn

Can anyone else suggest some more unusual girls names along the same lines?

Vera? Or one of the virtue-themed ones like Charity, Patience etc.

You may like having an unusual name but your DD might not.

This.

@fuzzystar we are obviously going to pick a name we like and aren't going for a name no one else wants.

Just don't want a name that is overly common. Personally I have an unusual name and I love it. I like that when people hear it they comment that it's unusual. I want the same for my daughter.

I work in a profession where I know a person can be judged by their name so I wouldn't go for something over the top.

I'm a teacher- many names parents consider unusual or uncommon tend not to be. Traditional names like Diane Suzanne are a lot more uncommon than 'uncommon' names

@useitorlose I'm the Rowena from above and like your friend am in my fifties.
I wonder if it was a 70s thing? I'm actually named after the Aussie actress Rowena Wallace who played nasty Patricia in Sons And Daughters.

I like the advise to look at names from the 60s. So many of the names listed just look way too try hard. I know someone who just called this baby Quinn. I really don't like the name... I just hear quim every time. Sorry!

Why not go for a good solid name?

I love the name Rhodes too but I don't know if it's too masculine.

Also enjoy that someone has suggested my own name to me 👀

None of these are overused among babies born today:
Valerie, Vanessa, Melissa, Melanie, Nicole, Susan, Suzanne, Julie, Sarah, Amanda, Caroline.

Just look at top names for 1975.

There’s a good quiz on sporcle for the top 1000 girl names in 1975.
