Sterling (spelled this way) and Montague

I see all the time on here people saying that the true upper class name their kids traditional names like William, James etc, but then see actual aristocracy with names like Peregrine (I.e. Viscount Peregrine Pearson) and wonder if we’re all wrong!

I used to love reading the telegraph birth announcements to see what people named their kids- obviously you get the celebs mixed in with the aristocracy but ur was good fun!

No, they can be a mix of both. ‘Freddie and Lily’ can be as upper class as ‘Allegra and Phineas’.

In DD’s (private) school there was a family with a Hector and Carrington! In reality though the vast majority had very normal names, they were one of a few exceptions
