Elizabeth, Rose or Louisa.
Which do you think goes best with Anna?

DD’s middle name is Elisabeth (we use the s rather than a z). It’s also my middle name and my DM’s name so a big favourite with us.

All so lovely OP. It’s a tie for Elizabeth and Rose for me!

Etincelle · 04/11/2023 17:00

Louisa

DesertSnow · 04/11/2023 16:58

Individually I like Louisa best, but think Elizabeth goes with Anna best, especially if shortened to Beth. Congratulations.

I like Louisa the best. I don’t think the a sound at the end matters. I quite like other girls names ending in an a to go with Anna- Clara, Natasha and Eva would all be lovely too

Louisa

DH is starting to warm to the name Louise. Though Elizabeth is our frontrunner. Thanks everyone :)

I really like Anna and Louisa together. The two names have a Scandinavian ring to them.

Well they all 'go' fine. They are all the classic style of name, like Anna (my favourite name!). Yes Elizabeth is a lot longer etc, but why does it matter? Each name is for an unique person. As they grow up they'll have their own, different lives, friends and families. The only thing that might cause a problem would be if the names were so close in sound it could cause confusion, so for instance I wouldn't choose Anna and Emma, Anna and Hannah (of course!), Anna and Susannah. But you're not!

I also would avoid another name beginning in 'A'. But another name ending in 'A' is absolutely not a problem and quite usual, so many female names follow this pattern. In fact I was going to suggest Rosa rather than Rose, as it's a bit more unusual.

I also prefer Louise to Louisa (although Louisa is fine), but you will get a lot of people bleating 'dated'. Have you considered Luisa instead of Louisa? I know you rejected Lucy, but do you like Lucia?

Clare or Clara? Emily? Isabel? Helena? Zoe or Chloe? Charlotte? Madeline? Christina?

Robotalkingrubbish · 30/10/2023 23:03

Elizabeth Rose sounds lovely ❤️

CumbersomeRobes · 30/10/2023 23:01

I'd pick Louisa but that's because I have one and she's wonderful 😁 she was nearly Elizabeth so I very much like your name choices.

Snugglemonkey · 30/10/2023 22:49

From your three, I would pick Rose.

Survivedtheex · 30/10/2023 22:09

Evie x

theduchessofspork · 30/10/2023 22:01

Elizabeth or Louisa

I’d go for Louisa
