Baby girl name for middle name Winter

BumbleBeeBumbum · 23/10/2023 21:25

Every name I come up with my partner hates!

However the one thing we can agree on is Winter as a middle name (the name meaning bringing of renewal as baby girl was the most welcome, happy news during an awful year…) I know it’s crazy to pick the middle name first and maybe it’s pregnancy hormones not making me think straight.

I like names like Clara, Ada, Esther but my partner strongly dislikes them plus I don’t think they really go with Winter.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or perhaps just leave a comment to give my head a wobble and focus on a first name we both love instead!

I'd steer clear of any colour, nature or flower names with Winter as they can end up sounding like a zoflora fragrance.

Three syllables for sure. Josephine from a PP is lovely!

Not Rebecca! Because Rebecca de Winter was, you know, evil! I'd assume you were a mega Daphne du Maurier fan.

Zara Winter is lovely.

I agree with pp that it doesn't have to "go" with the middle name, you rarely say them together.

I know of a Holly Winter (April baby!) 😜

clpsmum · 23/10/2023 22:28

If you both love it why not use winter as a first name?

I know a Ruby Winter.

Is Winter as a first name not an option? It's not for me, but it clearly has meaning to you both. If it's all you can agree on, it might be the one?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 23/10/2023 22:05

I think Winter restricts it somewhat. Nothing really flows before it.

My brain went to Penelope Winter though. Or maybe Georgina Winter. I think it needs a longer first name.
