Zoe and Max for me

nobleisle · 22/10/2023 21:26

Mara and either Patrick or Freddie

wizzler · 22/10/2023 21:25

Ellen and Patrick

Scirocco · 22/10/2023 20:54

Ellen and Frank. Both names of people I love and massively respect. I also like Robin.

2chocolateoranges · 22/10/2023 20:53

Zoe and Max are my favourites.

SabbatWheel · 22/10/2023 20:51

Robin and Patrick

StellaOlivetti · 22/10/2023 20:50

Ellen, by a mile. And Max for a boy.

Pemba · 22/10/2023 20:48

Zoe is just beautiful, and lovely that it means 'life'. I like your other names too, except for Mae, which is so popular as a middle name, and I find that spelling a bit tacky (because of Mae West?), May would be marginally better.

Frederick is a great name and I also like Max and Patrick. Really dislike Frank though.

ItsRebekahVardy · 22/10/2023 20:47

Ellen and Robin

Ssme92 · 22/10/2023 20:46

@Leni987 prefer Ellen. Given how popular Ella and Ellie are, I don't think Ellen sounds like a dated name. But then all the Ellen's I know are 20s and 30s so I could be biased.

jadey1991 · 22/10/2023 20:46

Girls: mae and I like Robin but I would spell I'd robynne
Boys: Robin

@AudiobookListener thank you for your comment and I was not aware of this meaning. Like @MariaVT65 posted, I always though Mara was the Irish for ocean

Thanks so much for all your comments - such a mix of responses!

Really surprised to see so many positive comments for Ellen as it doesn’t seem very popular these days. Is it too dated? Also really like Elin and DH is Welsh and so could be an option?

I like Freddie from your boys' list and would go for Helene for a girl as opposed to Ellen.

bloodyeffinnora · 22/10/2023 20:41

Mara and Max are my favourites

Needeyebrows · 22/10/2023 20:39

Robyn with a y. Also really like Mara.

Frederick for a boy.

Whataretheodds · 22/10/2023 20:35

Patrick and Mara or Zoe are my faves

Mara is a demon, associated with death and dark forces in Buddhism.

Ellen and Robin/Frederick

Mara means quite a lot of different things in different languages. It’s also irish for the ocean.

bobby81 · 22/10/2023 20:29

Mae and Max are my favourites from your list x

Torganer · 22/10/2023 20:29

Robin!! You seem to like it a lot and then it doesn’t matter what the sex of the baby is. I think it’s a lovely name, not wet at all. There is a beautiful Carly Simon song that always comes into my head when I hear the name.

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 22/10/2023 20:26

Congratulations on your baby. Maybe you’ll know the right name when you meet your little one? They are all nice names so you have some solid choices. My favourites are Ellen and Frederick.

Ellen and Robin/Frederick

Viviennemary · 22/10/2023 20:22

They are all ok but I'm not overkeen keen on any of them.

Patrick and Ellen. I do like Robin but would spell it with a Y and I prefer Zoey rather than Zoe.
