I adore the name Emily and will be naming my next Dd it in December but we are struggling to choose a middle name.
I liked Emily Rose but i do feel the combination was extremely popular years ago when Emily was at its peak (90s/00s) I know they are both lovely names but do you think the two names together are slightly tired now?

Any other middle name suggestions would be appreciated

Emily is a nice classic

Rose, May, Grace are all absolutely knackered as middle names. Even more newly popular single syllable names - like Hope and Joy - have the same cliche feel

Emily Jean
Emily Kate
sound a bit fresher

or probably better dump the single syllable

Emily Beatrice
Emily Constance
Emily Frances
Emily Margot

Why does it matter if it was a popular combination years ago? If you love it, go for it. We don't name our children to please others, all that matters is that you as her parents love it.

Despite being more popular in the 90s/00s(and early 2010s), Emily is still far from dated. It's still top 30ish and probably will be for years to come as it's pretty timeless. Far nicer than going for a modern name of the moment imo.

Classics that have stood the test of time.

Don't overthink the middle name. People only ever hear them at birth, christening, marriage and death.
