We are due our baby girl soon. We already have an Isabella (Bella), Arthur and Archie. We have shortlisted 3 names, what do you think goes best? Thank you.

Connie (just Connie, not a fan of Constance)
Dulcie
Posie

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Posie! If you're open to suggestions what about Pauline ?

FASDE1517 · 14/10/2023 21:14

Connie. Goes well with your other children's names. And I like the AABC of the initials!

Ifyoulikealotofchocolateonyourbiscuit · 14/10/2023 21:13

Connie for sure

DragonFly98 · 14/10/2023 21:12

Connie, but Posie is also cute , hate Dulcie sorry I know it's a bit mean but but it just sounds chavy.

Thanks all! Yes I would pronounce Dulcie as Doll-see. Really stuck on Dulcie or Connie, Dulcie I have loved for years but never had the guts to go for it!

Between these 2, Connie

nobleisle · 14/10/2023 21:12

Connie and Posie are my fave

GoodVibesHere · 14/10/2023 21:10

Connie is lovely.

I don't like Posie or Dulcie at all. Posie is the sort of name a 4 year old would give to a doll, and Dulcie sounds depressing or sort of downtrodden to my ears.

A suggestion from me (if you want one!) might be Penny, or Penelope.

AutumnWellyBootsandScarf · 14/10/2023 21:04

Out of your 3, definitely Connie. The other two are completely different type of name to your other kids. i don't think number 4 should be singled out.

Daddylonglegs123 · 14/10/2023 20:54

Connie

HeyMicky · 14/10/2023 20:51

I have a Posie whose full name is Josephine, so has other adult options

Hayliebells · 14/10/2023 20:48

Connie

AdaColeman · 14/10/2023 20:46

Dulcie is gorgeous!

I'm not keen on Posie, it's cute for a little girl, but not for a grown up.

Mytholmroyd · 14/10/2023 20:46

My 30+ adult daughter is called Constance - I am not a fan of giving children shortened versions of names on their birth certificate because it reduces their future options - IME kids often think differently about the names you give them than you do! So we always tried to give them a couple of names that were 'flexible' and could produce a variety of naming options.

She has variously been Con, Concon, Connie, Constance, CJ over the years with different friends/family/workplaces.

Connie is a cute for a child/close family but she might want to use the more elegant full name (or a version of it when she grows up?

blarm · 14/10/2023 20:41

Bonnie is lovely too

Jewelspun · 14/10/2023 20:39

Connie

Jewelspun · 14/10/2023 20:39

On or is lovely.

SallyWD · 14/10/2023 20:38

Connie is the best out of those three

he123x · 14/10/2023 20:38

I love Polly and Ruby! Polly is too close to my own name unfortunately.

OP posts:
messedupmumma · 14/10/2023 20:37

Dulcie

StopVotingToryYouTwats · 14/10/2023 20:36

Connie.

Have you considered Polly, Elsie or Ruby?

newmama311 · 14/10/2023 20:34

Connie xx

Connie. Dulcie sounds like Dull-cie, Posie is too twee.

SkyeBlue28 · 14/10/2023 20:31

Dulcie

BoleynMemories13 · 14/10/2023 20:31

I love both Connie and Dulcie. Only ever known Dulcie to be Dol-see, for the previous poster who mentioned Dull.

Posie seems very infantile. I can't imagine an adult Posie.

I think Connie matches the sibset the best.
