he123x · 14/10/2023 20:23

We are due our baby girl soon. We already have an Isabella (Bella), Arthur and Archie. We have shortlisted 3 names, what do you think goes best? Thank you.

Connie (just Connie, not a fan of Constance)
Dulcie
Posie

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MargotBamborough · 15/10/2023 14:18

I'd go with Posie but as a nickname for either Rose or Josephine.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 15/10/2023 13:48

Definitely Connie!
Posie and Ruby could be good choices as well.

I personally really dislike Dulcie.

SoupDragon · 15/10/2023 09:22

Of those options, Connie. It seems not too "frilly" but frilly enough IYSWIM. It's a name for someone who could be anything.

Posie sounds so weak and Dulcie is awful. I'd have pronounced it Dull sea but I don't like it as doll sea either.

SneezyEvie · 15/10/2023 09:17

Connie. I don’t like the other two.

I would still put Constance on BC even if I used Connie day to day as it gives her a more formal option to use when older.

Steev · 15/10/2023 09:14

None are really my taste but Connie would do

Do you like Beattie?

StopVotingToryYouTwats · 15/10/2023 08:26

Poppy and Sylvie are also nice.

WAC1 · 15/10/2023 06:45

I love Connie. If you call her 'Dulcie', I think people will pronounce it 'Dulcie' not 'Doll-Coe'

muddyford · 15/10/2023 06:42

Grim. Think again. It's Posy, btw.

Berlinlover · 15/10/2023 06:41

I don’t like any of them.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 15/10/2023 05:00

I don't like any of them (sorry).

Connie is the best of the bunch but it's surely a shortened version of something? Dulcie is awful. Posie sounds like a pets name or a nickname. I would not want it as an adult.

user1492757084 · 15/10/2023 04:43

Isabella, Arthur, Archie and Dulcie wins for me.
Constance is my next choice.
Posy or Posie are sweet but definite nick names for say .. Primrose, Rosemary or Rosa. Poesy means poetry.

BlowingAway · 14/10/2023 23:52

Connie for sure.

I also like Bonnie suggested above as an alternative that's similar to the others.

Squidwitch · 14/10/2023 23:32

I think Connie is nicest, no room for any error. I could see a future of Posie being said as Possie and Dulcie as Dolchee

ellenpartridge · 14/10/2023 23:26

Connie

Snugglemonkey · 14/10/2023 23:17

Connie or Dulcie. Posie is not a great name for a woman.

BronnauMawrion · 14/10/2023 23:01

I used to know an old lady called Dulcie and she was an absolute fire-cracker! Sharp as anything and tongue like a whip. Loved her!

But I much prefer Connie in your list. What about Cornelia as a full name, with Connie for nn?

JamSandle · 14/10/2023 22:57

Connie

GG1986 · 14/10/2023 22:54

Connie, it also goes Nice with your other children's names.

Theoldwoman · 14/10/2023 22:38

I’m not a fan of any and Isabella is much much nicer than any. But if you are cer, then Connie.

Ihatemondays1962 · 14/10/2023 22:30

Connie is the nicest by far.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 14/10/2023 22:30

Darcie is also cute if you want another similar name
In the mix

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 14/10/2023 22:29

SkyeBlue28 · 14/10/2023 20:31

Dulcie

I'm not sure if this is dull see or doll chey so your dd will probably have the same
Problem

Love all your names so far. I think Connie of the three.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 14/10/2023 22:19

I like Dulce.

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/10/2023 22:16

Favourite is Posie but Connie goes best 👍
