Brother for Saskia: Max or Felix?

I’m really torn between Max and Felix. DP prefers Max and I’m leaning towards Felix but keep changing my mind! Baby is due any day now so really need to make a decision.

What would you go for?

We went for Felix in the end! It was very hard to choose even after he arrived as we could see him as both but eventually went for Felix. It’s unusual enough for where we live and we love the meaning behind it.

Plus he can always dress up as a cat for Halloween 😂

Thanks for all your feedback! If we go for baby number 3 and he’s a boy, I guess we already have his name!

I know a Maxwell and a Maxx kind of different variations. Saskia and River love that name

Felix would definitely be my choice. I like the pp’s suggestion of Phoenix as well if you were looking for something more unusual.

My lovely grandchildren all have an x in their names. The littlest is called Phoenix, which really suits him.

Not much help but my son is attending a joint 8th birthday party soon for Max & Felix!
I like both - in this case Max is short for Maxwell.

Ask the midwife. We had narrowed it down to two names and the midwife screwed her face up at one of them and said “ooh we get a lot of those in here”. Other name it was then! Definitely the right decision 18 years later. 😂

Max is great as it is. Or how about Isaac?

Wait until he's born and test them out. You've got time until he needs to be registered. We didn't nail down our names until the day if registration. Whichever one you decide he will become it. They are both great names.

I think saskia and Felix is too many syllables. Saskia and Max has a much better rhythm.

I’m very bias that I like Max. We chose that as a full name as DH didn’t want a name that could be shortened. We very often lengthen it though and he’s called Maximus or Maximilian as a cutesy name.

I do think Felix goes better though with Saskia

I like both names OP. Wait til baby arrives and see what they look like 🙂.

Other names I think work are Dexter (Dex), Rex, Phoenix.

Saskia and Max is too much of that A sound.

I think Saskia and Felix is a far nicer combination, and I also think Felix is a nicer name than Max.

Felix. Have known three and they have all been wonderful. Loads of Maxs out there - very popular, your son would be Max A, B or C
